  • Worked great for ceramic ornament glaze firing
I used this wire to allow me to fully glaze ceramic ornaments in the kiln at cone 6, and it worked wonderfully. Thin enough to not stick to the glaze and strong enough to hold the ornaments without breaking. I looped the wire through the ornament holes and hung the wire from a kiln post that was horizontally placed on top of two vertical kiln posts. Will be using again for future hanging pieces. ... show more

  • Works great!
I really love this wire. It’s worked great for my little ceramic bees. My work is fired in a studio and I believe it’s fired to cone 5. I’ve had no problems with it so far.

  • Buy the right gauge
I definitely bought the wrong gauge for what my students wanted to use the wire for. (Ceramic Christmas trees with stars on top. We left a large gap between the star and tree.) It flopped over in the heat and the star fused to the tree. 🫠 I'm thinking the gauge was too small, so the wire wasn't as sturdy. It definitely works great, just not for what I bought it for! ... show more

  • Perfect for the kiln
I bought this for some of my jewelry needs in my pottery so far so good, easy to bend and of course it does change to the annealed look in the kiln. According to the directions in will go to cone 5, it does not say that on the bag...however I researched it on other ceramic/pottery websites, and glass fusing websites before I purchased it. I'm happy with it! Used for any projects that require wire support in the high temperatures of ceramic kilns such as jewelry and small armatures. This 24 gauge high temperature steel wire contains no nickel and can be fired up to cone 5. Approximately 10 ft. long. Thanks for reading and I hope this helps...came real fast in the mail. ... show more

  • Worked great in kiln
I used the Kemper high temperature wire in my kiln to hang ornaments. It worked great. Did not break or stretch at all. Kiln was fired to around 2000 degrees.

  • No fuming or discoloration. Nice!
As always,Kemper makes quality products that artists can rely on. This wire performed great at the temps I needed and there was no nasty fuming or discoloration on my work.

  • Use with caution at cone 6
If you plan on using this at cone 6, wrap the wire around your support several times on both sides. I used it on some small pendants, all weighing less than 5 grams. Wrapping it at least two times kept the wire on the support, but one wrap caused the wire to come off the support bar. Wrapping multiple times uses much more wire. ... show more
