The remote is used to adjust the brightness from 10% power to 100% power. The remote is also used to adjust the color temperature from 3000K to 6000K, The remote makes it easy to change the color, brightness, and temperature of the light (see video). This is a good thing, as without the remote none of the various custom settings are possible. The included light bulb is paired with the remote, which, again, is a good thing, because the remote is required to effect any of the custom bulb settings. The lamp is easy to install, but it must be noted that this is another in the repetitive series of screw together lamp posts, construction of which may be more-or-less maddening. Of some concern here — it is unclear how new bulbs are paired with the included control. When the time comes for a new bulb, you may experience more thrills and more fun as you attempt to connect the remote controll to a new lousy light bulb. This uncertainty is a demerit to me. I'm already experiencing as much fun and as many thrills as I can handle configuring my other crummy household appliances without losing my damn mind, The lampshade, described to be somewhat chic, vogue, modern, and fashionable, is in fact a bit flimsy in my estimation. While the form is ideal for a slim, low profile floor lamp, the function is suspect over time. It does not seem very durable. The lampshade, then, is another demerit. Overall this is a nice addition if you are looking for an inexpensive lighting solution that is very unobtrusive, yet capable of creating various shades of ambiance. Four Stars.

This is not your forever lamp, the lampshade can be a bit flimsy. What this is, is a step up from the very first lamp you buy in college. Possibly even from the 2nd lamp you buy when you move out on your own. Depending on how much you wanted to spend on lighting. You get a dimmable light, that even comes with a night-time setting. This is my preferred setting as someone with migraines. It dims as well, and if you raise it, it will go up to the standard brightness. Truly the lampshade is the only downfall. It's easily messed by accident. But also easily fixed. 4-4.5 stars just because of the lampshade and very basic design. There's no real regrets with this purchase. Easily assembled, barring the lampshade, for the above reasons. The remote makes it easy to use. Solid lamp. It even comes with the lightbulb.

This floor lamp came well packaged with instructions. It was an easy and simple set-up. The lamp is very tall and thin, so if not on a sturdy surface, it could wobble or tilt. It's about 65" tall and 5" wide at its widest point. Putting it together, the materials felt like what you might expect from a $30 lamp, but it was fun to set up and sort of ingenious how they have you cobble the pieces together. I wasn't sure how I felt about it immediately after set-up, its thin and tall shape does make it feel less stable than you might want from a floor lamp, but as soon as I placed it in my bedroom and turned it on, I was in love with it. It lit up a dark corner with ambient lighting (the picture shown is the dimmest setting on 'warm' mode). It comes with a remote control so you can turn it off from bed or set a sleep timer for 30 min or 1 hour (2 timer options). I love the ability to turn from bright white to soft warm yellow, as well as the dimming feature--all of which can be adjusted with the remote control. I honestly just love it more than I expected to.
