  • They look like they should cost twice as much...
This knife set would easily cost twice as much if sold by a name brand manufacture. I'm a knife nut and I have too many knives, some very expensive. Lately I've been buying cheap knives for every day use. I wouldn't do this, but with three kids in the house who use a knife and then just toss it in the dishwasher, I have have to. First thing to know, you should never put a knife in the dishwasher. You hand wash it. Dry it off and put it away. Your knives will stay sharp longer. This knife set comes with 3 knives that are not only well made, but well balanced also. Out of the box they are very sharp. They do use a cheaper metal, so they won't stay sharp as long as ones with a higher grade metal. That being said, I would recommend this set to someone who knows how to sharpen knives. If you don't fall into this category, you'd be better off passing on these. There are must cheaper knives out these that you can just throw away when they get dull. Even if you were to spend 4 times as much on a knife, sooner than later it would need sharpening. If you can find a place that sharpens knives , it cost about $30 to have it done. So a gain, a $10 throw away knife would be more cost effective. I'm not trying to push people away from nice knives, just trying to make it clear all knives take work. If you can't do the work yourself, you'll be spending more money, one way or another. So you've made it this far. I do recommend these knives for anyone who knows how to handle and work on knives. It would even be a nice starter set for someone looking into getting into more expensive knives. The three sizes that are included in the set will cover most chopping and cutting the average home cook will encounter. A bonus is they also look very nice. ... show more

  • My new favorite knives
I ordered this knife set to replace several old inexpensive knives that I’ve been using for decades. They were rusting, no longer held an edge, and weren’t that great even when they were new. Now that I have these new knives, I’m wondering why I waited so long to replace the old ones. This three-piece set of KEEMAKE knives arrived well-packaged in a sturdy box with a closed foam insert that held the knives securely. Upon unboxing them, I was impressed with the feel of the handles and how flawless the finish on the wood was. The handles meet the bolsters perfectly, without any gaps or overlap. The second thing I noticed was that the blades were razor sharp. I’ve never received a knife in the mail that was as sharp as these. All three were easily able to shave hair off my arm without any honing or stropping. I was seriously impressed. Needless to say, they also did excellent job on the grape tomatoes I used to test them. I can’t yet speak to how well these knives hold an edge, since they’re still new. But I can speak to how great they feel in the hand. They’re well-balanced, have a comfortable handle and make slicing and chopping pretty much effortless. They also look great! So much better than even my higher end plastic-handled knives. The only caveat I can offer, is that I’d be a little worried about running these through the dishwasher. Because they have real wood handles, I’d be concerned about swelling or cracking. So I will be handwashing these knives exclusively, and will hope that the rest of my family follows suit. Overall, I really love these knives. There are my new favorites! I’m looking forward to using them for years to come! ... show more

  • Exceptional Knives with Impressive Sharpness.
I was excited to try out the KEEMAKE 3 Piece Knife Set, and I must say, these knives exceeded my expectations right out of the package. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly sharp they were; they sliced through vegetables, meats, and even tougher items like butternut squash with ease. The precision is remarkable, and it's clear that these knives are designed for some serious cooking. One of the standout features for me is how well these knives retain their edge. After two weeks of daily use in my kitchen, they are still as sharp as the day I first used them. I also love how they feel in my hands—the weight distribution is perfect, and the wood finish on the handles not only looks beautiful but provides a comfortable and secure grip. A word of caution: I do not recommend putting these knives in the dishwasher. While this isn't a deal breaker for me, as I never put any of my knives in the dishwasher, it's something to keep in mind if you're someone who prefers to do so. Hand washing is the way to go to ensure these knives stay in top condition. Overall, I highly recommend the KEEMAKE 3 Piece Knife Set to anyone looking for high-quality, reliable kitchen knives. Whether you're a home cook or a professional chef, these knives will not disappoint. ... show more

  • Razor Sharp, Made From Budget Steel
The Good: 1. These knives come razor sharp. These knives come as sharp as any knife that I have ever purchased. 2. The set of knives come nicely packaged. They would make an excellent gift 3. The wooden handles are very attractive and well made. I looked closely and found zero defects of any kind The Not So Good: 1. The material used for the blade is 4116 which is a low end Martensitic Stainless. Originally a German Steel. It has relatively low performance with respect to edge retention and toughness. It is used by a lot of knife manufacturers of budget knifes. For really nice knives there are much better material choices. ... show more
