It did NOT come with necessary tools to assemble. You will need a screwdriver and a 10mm wrench. It is NOT 57.5 in wide, but it is 62 5/8 in. wide. Instructions not that well explained.

The wood is definitely cedar (at least some of it). I can smell that it's real. The package came with all the parts needed. My husband assembled it and said the instructions could have been clearer. The other downside is it feels somewhat flimsy, like the boards bend a little when I put weight on them. Some boards are actually a couple pieces glued together, not solid pieces of wood. Overall I'm happy with it, but disappointed in the thinness of the wood pieces and resulting flimsy feel.

I am painting this chair and it is about half way complete. It is very well made and I really like that it can either sit three or two with a drink holder/arm rest. It is light enough that my husband and I can carry it to the dock. I am very happy with the purchase.

This is a very nice bench for the money. The cedar smells wonderful. The assembly instructions are quite bad (you have to think things through carefully to resolve ambiguities in the instructions), but the bench is pretty easy to put together if you’re handy. If you’re not, you may want to ask for help. Made quick work of the job with a ratchet and a phillips tip for my cordless drill. Take care not to over-tighten. Just finished spraying on a coat of stain, and it looks very nice. A thin seat cushion will make it comfortable. It feels sturdy for us, but I’m going to add a vertical brace up the middle of each seat for larger people who might use it. Overall we are very pleased! The flip-up armrest is really neat. The cats fight over who gets it. :)

I don’t write many reviews. I figured I would for this. Assembly was not the easiest to follow and I’m pretty well versed in assembling furniture. Not all the parts are labeled so this is what makes it a little difficult to follow. Overall it is fairly comfy and sturdy. I’m a tall big guy and this bench feels like it was made for a teenager or smaller person. I’m 6’1” 240lbs. The wood creeks and makes noise some when you sit on it and sits lower to the ground than expected. Overall it’s just okay.

Very nice bench! I bought this for my wife's birthday, she really loves it. We stained the wood since it will be outside. It is sturdy and well put together. The only complaint I have was the instructions were not as good as they could be. The pictures were not detailed enough, but I muddled through it
