For the price the KastKing Progressive Glass Fishing Rods are excellent. They have a good look and finish due to materials used to put the rods together. Along with the good quality workmanship the fishing rods are an exceptional value purchase. Looking forward to use in light line applications. **4/19/23 Update - Amazon did an excellent return/exchange/shipping of replacement rods in the correct 7’6” length I originally ordered. Changed my rating from four to five stars. Four Star review because I did not receive the actual rod in the length I ordered. Ordered three 7’6” spinning rods and received three 7’0” spinning rods. The packaging sticker on the black KastKing shipping tube had a sticker with the correct information for the 7’6” rod, but all three rods inside the tubes were 7’0” and not the 7’6” length that I needed & ordered. Will try to exchange for the correct length because I believe these fiber glass rods will be great for lighter line applications with lures and bait fishing. Also ordered the rod in the 8’0” spinning rod length and will be keeping it as was the correct item and length. Note: Have used mostly Ugly Stik rods throughout my years of fishing and wanted to try other brands to be used for pier fishing to surf fishing along the Los Angeles area beaches. Will be pairing these new rods with 3000 and 4000 size reels from Penn, Daiwa, Quantum, and Pflueger. Want to use in light line surf fishing for barred surf perch using sand crabs as bait and for 1/2 ounce Yo-Zuri floating lure fishing for halibut. So I like the pole, my son hates it. What I like is it’s got a very moderate action and it’s fiberglass which is durable and makes for good trolling poles. I use this pole trolling for salmon and it’s one I leave on the boat. Why cause if someone steals it I won’t cry for long. I moor my boat and like having a few rods ready to go. So why does my son hate it, cause it’s fat ( really it is) and flexes a lot. I think for him it’s a fashion thing. Though the color is a nice blue, it is a fat rod. ... show more

The rod feels very sturdy and well made. It's not as light as a graphite rod, but this is a glass rod at 1/3rd the cost, and it's quite light for a glass rod. The cork handle is comfortable to grip, and the handle length is perfect for a surf rod. Guides also seem to have been installed nicely and straight. I have not fished the rod yet- but plan to use it for plunking on the Columbia river for salmon/steelhead! For the price- this is a no brainer! ... show more

So, I finally got around to reviewing the Kastking Progressive Glass Fishing Rods. Let me say I own around 6 different KastKing rods. The Demon Pro series are an awesome value. I ordered the 10ft casting thinking I could use it for pitching or vertical jigging. 10ft would fit nicely in the range of my Helix for vertical jigging. Once I received the rod, I knew I messed up, it's HUGE. I fish local lakes and rivers, the 10ft is definitely a surf/beach or cat fishing rod. The build of the rod seems quality but the size is a deal breaker if you fish for bass. I did give it a try paired with a size 3 baitcaster but that didn't last long as my arm grew tired from the weight. I ended up giving the rod to a co-worker who fishes in Florida often. I'm sure he will get much more use out of it; I'll post an update if he catches anything with it. KastKing, if you are reading this give me a hookup on the Assegai line rod....I should have spent this money on one but my wife has been on me hard since I blew up last months budget on fishing gear....... ... show more

You can go everywhere with this rod and it is indestructible. It will bend until the end and will hold up whatever comes. This durability comes with a price and I don't mean money - I mean the weight. It has some weight to it and if you are using it to spin or cast, your arms will get tired very fast. But other than that - it looks good, feels good and it will hold up including the guides. Saltwater doesn't harm it with the exception of the cork part. Great value for the money ! ... show more
