  • Matter: Smooth LAN ControlAll Matter-certified devices in your local area network (LAN) will work smoothly even when your home internet goes offline. Matter allows effective communication directly between devices, without the need for a specific 'forwarding' device. For example, a Matter smart switch or sensor can turn on/off a Matter bulb directly without being connected to a cloud service, or other specific action. Once configured, communication and control between Matter devices can be achieved directly on the local network.
  • Energy MonitoringBy monitoring your energy consumption over time, you can gain valuable insights into your usage patterns and make informed decisions about your energy consumption. This can help you save money on your energy bills.
  • Compact & Flame Retardant DesignAvoid blocking additional outlets with its compact design, and plug in your WiFi smart plug with confidence thanks to its UL certified flame retardant design and 2-year limited warranty.

  • Great energy monitoring functions, Matter need some work
Style: 4-Pack
The new energy monitoring functions are a great addition to this plugs. Also noticed that are pretty fast in turning on/off after a voice command in comparison with previous version. However, you still need to use the KASA app to configure the plugs since using Smart things took like 2 tries per plug due to errors and you cannot update the firmware without KASA. I was never able to connect Smart Things with Google using Matter. Wish that the matter code is in the plug itself, and not a sticker. Also could be good to have a sticker with the 4 codes in the 4 pack like the one in EP25P4. ... show more

  • Instant Response
Style: 2-Pack
These are the first Matter smart plugs I have owned and use them with Apple Home Kit. Adopting the devices was seamless. I did not use the Kasa app, I simply scanned the barcode on the side of the plug and added to the Home App. When controlling with the Apple Home App, these smart plugs turn on/off immediately. I was using Belkin WeMo plugs via Thread and there would be a slight delay of up to two seconds before they would respond. These Kasa Matter smart plugs respond immediately, both in the home and remotely. I haven't had them installed real long, but so far they have been solid. ... show more

  • Doesn't pair to Apple HomeKit
Style: 4-Pack
Will not pair using Apple's HomeKit process (scanning QR code). Adding via the Kasa app works, but you cannot add to HomeKit from the Kasa app, unlike their previous non-Matter HomeKit-compatible accessories. If you're buying this to use with the Apple ecosystem then skip it as it doesn't work (iOS and plug firmware versions as of April 10, 2023). ... show more

  • Some quirks to the data, but otherwise easy to get going
Style: 2-Pack
Heads up I received through the Amazon Vine program. I have several other Kasa devices, in wall and wall wort types, so I already had the app and was familiar with how to set them up. When I saw there was an energy monitoring version, I wanted to test some things out. For me energy monitoring is a bit of a gimmick, and im likely to move these around the house to see which devices are using energy rather than trying to track a single device over its lifetime for signs of failure. Set up was a breeze, weirdly one unit wanted to download new firmware the other didnt. The app picked them both up. I put one on my kettle and one on a drinks fridge. Some things to note: 1) This wont give you high fidelity data, it seems to update whenever you open the app, so if you want to track usage in real time, you need to keep opening and closing. 2) The charts that are shown only appear after some amount of time. For me the kettle has started showing a chart, the fridge hasnt yet, even though i installed them at the same time. 3) The calculations are wrong until you get to either 7 days or 30 days becasue of the way the app averages (see screenshot taken after a few days) Its also worth pointing out that these may allow you to fit two per receptacle, but should you have two receptacles side by side, they will encroach on the ones next door (see picture). overall, they seem to be well made Kasa units. Unless 'Matter' gives you some sort of extra functionality, the energy monitoring for me a just a bit of fun. ... show more

  • Overall, the functionality is fine
Style: 4-Pack
I picked these up because Kasa is the primary app for our smart switches and plugs already. I like having everything in as few apps as possible and I felt these would seamlessly sync with our system between Kasa and Alexa. A big plus is the size. It's rectangular and others we have used have been a circle. This allows us to comfortably use both outlets on the wall outlet, which seems simple, but is a big deal. I had the hardest time setting it up in the Kasa app until I finally figured out that in order to add the plug, I needed to choose the "Matter Smart Plug" option and not the "smart plug" option in the Kasa app. That seems intuitive in hindsight, but this was not listed on the enclosed documentation, and I honestly never noticed that these said matter on them. So it took a couple extra minutes to set up. Then I had to get them discovered by Alexa, but that part went smoothly. I find the "Energy Monitoring" capabilities listed on the Amazon product page to be misleading. This will not show your actual energy consumption, but rather the app will give you an idea of how much time you've used that outlet... I guess that's helpful, but the ad promises "you can gain valuable insights into your usage patterns and make informed decisions about your energy consumption" which is, frankly, overstating the usefulness of these plugs. Aside from that, after successful set up, they have worked flawlessly with a bare minimum of delay. ... show more

  • Doesn't work with Apple Home as well it does with with Kasa's app
Style: 2-Pack
Using with Apple Home. First one said it connected, but Apple Home says "no response" from it. Tried the second one, it connected and I was able to turn it on/off through Apple Home. No idea yet how to get power data from it. Reset the first unit and was able to connect it to the KASA app. Reset it again tried to connect to Apple Home. Still wouldn't connect (just flashed orange-blue). Was finally able to set it up after going to the Kasa support web site. The key was to reset it by holding the power button for 10 seconds (rather than the 5 seconds that another source indicated). No power data displayed on Apple Home app. It would be nice to know whether that feature is supposed to work with Apple Home or not, but I can't find any info on TP's site, Apple's site or anywhere else. ... show more

  • Add smartness to any power operated device easily!
Style: 2-Pack
Design wise, the Kasa smart wifi plug slim is sleek and compact, and doesn’t block the adjacent outlets. It also has an LED light that indicates whether the plug is on or off. Setup is pretty easy and the Kasa app provides a user-friendly interface to control the plug and manage all our connected Google Home and Amazon Alexa devices. Love the energy consumption monitoring feature on the app which seems as an upgrade to the older model. Great choice for anyone looking to add smart functionality to their home appliances. ... show more
