This product works well. I used this to automate top-offs in my saltwater aquarium. I used a 10-gallon hardware store bucket to hold the water and then ran the flexible tubing from the pump in the bucket to my sump underneath my aquarium. It has kept my levels in tact for weeks now. I check the water levels each day and have not seen any issues or malfunctions thus far. The water height sensor stays in place via a pretty strong magnet. When I feed my fish, I temporarily turn off all of the pumps and this causes the water in my sump to rise above the sensor. The sensor realizes it is above the level automatically as advertised and does not dispense water. It also responds when water level returns to normal. This was a good buy! ... show more

I found mixed reviews and that is great. I rather have bad and good experiences to evaluate my product with a wide expectation. In this case I am setting those at high level. This review is written on the very first day. My setting: 100 g tank, fresh water with a 30 g sump and 10 g reservoir for top off. This device’s pump is in the 10 g tank and the sensor was placed in the 30 g sump, short distance, no vertical discrepancy (pump out put at less than 1 foot of pump placement). I will update as the time goes by. First impression: small device, looks deceiving at first considering the size of the pump and the simplicity of the system. Written Instructions: easy to follow, clear. Set up: amazingly easy, quick and simple. First run: smooth, effective, accurate, impressive. @24 hours: success, uncertain about how rhe device works when pump is active in no-water conditions. Couldn’t find any review on this issue. Sensor fail is a concern since the placement is hidden from plain sight, an overflow is always catastrophic, but in my case can be devastating. Thus far, I maintain high expectations and I am very pleased with this product, albeit the precautions and concerns if failure happens. @ 1-month: coming! ... show more

Only thing missing is a low reservoir alarm so I know to refill top off. But if you stay on top of that there's no problems. Works great.

I ordered this model for my Fluval M60 that I have set up as a reef tank. It was very easy to install and it has been running on the tank for about 2 months now with no issues. I just ordered another for my 60 gallon cube mixed reef and am excited to have consistent water levels and less fluctuation in salinity. One thing we did have to do is adjust the tubing height a little going into the tank to make sure there was no back-siphoning.     • Lifespan isn’t long but it works
Bought this on 2/5/22 and it officially died today 4/5/23. This is the 2nd one I bought. I thought the first one was defective but I guess it wasn’t. The lifespan of this product for equipment in this hobby is not even close to the top but it does what it’s supposed to do. Just be ready to replace it every year or so. 3 stars because of lifespan would’ve been 5 if it lasted longer. ... show more

    • Simple are reliable - great customer service!
Very simple to install and get going! Just connect all the wires as labeled, put the sensor in your return pump chamber and set it to the desired hight with the included magnet, put the pump in your freshwater reservoir and the included clear tube from the pump back into the sump. Easy peasy! I put mine on a timer so it runs twice a day for a minute each time to keep it from running all day long in small increments. After a little over a year, the sensor failed. I contacted the company and they immediately sent out a replacement! I was impressed by their desire to provide a good experience to their customers.
