  • Glad I purchased these
Style: 7.5 Ah Battery
My old batteries were over three years old and weren't holding the charge as long as they used to. Granted, my old batteries still last a while, just not as long as I liked. I had two 5 amp batteries and two 7.5 amp batteries. This past fall, one of my 5 amp batteries became bad as one of the batteries failed. I still need to replace the bad battery with out damaging it. Seeing as winter was on it's way and I needed new batteries for my EGO Two Stage snow blower. I decided to purchase these as I'm not yet ready to take a chance and purchase a third party batty which may or may not work the way the EGO batteries work or possibly even fail to work. I found that these new batteries work really good and have plenty of power to them. More power than my old batteries. It seems you can notice the diffence when using my snowblower. I just wish the price of these would become more affordable as being low income, these create a big hole in your pocket what with the cost. I enjoy using EGO products and the best thing is the batteries are interchangeable. Have the builtin battery meter helps too. Then again, my old 7.5 amp batteries were of the same type. ... show more

  • Worth the extra money
Style: 7.5 Ah Battery
Despite the fact that I have a lot of experience with LiFePo batteries I thought I'd try one of the much cheaper Chinese replacements for the 7.5 AH Ego Power battery. Here's what I learned. The original, now five-year old battery that came with my Ego lawn mower when new was beginning show its age. I was no longer able to mow both front and back yards with just one full charge. Then, the mower's battery indicator would flash red even before finishing just the (larger) backyard. That said, these batteries should last MUCH longer. Current LiFePo chemistry is good enough that we should reasonably expect at least several thousand cycles before reaching a theoretically diminished limit of 80% of original capacity. Unlike older battery chemistries LiFePo battery packs typically deliver a consistent level of energy until nearly exhausted when they suddenly fall off a cliff and the built-in Battery Management System, (BMS) shuts everything down to protect the cells from further damage. So, five years is way short of these typical expected lifetime values. I got about half of what I expected especially when using the Ego Power battery charger. I wouldn't care so much about the failure to deliver the expected performance, but these batteries are not cheap! With this in mind I didn't feel like I owed the Ego Power people my continued business. Going all-electric was supposed to save a few dollars on fuel over the typical gas-powered mower we all grew up with, right? Instead, any savings I was supposed to get by being oh-so cool and environmentally-concerned was wiped out when I only got half of what I expected from the battery. What did I do? First I bought a 6.0 AH Chinese knock-off on Amazon. It looked just like the Ego-branded battery, but slightly smaller in size and weight as expected. I incorrectly assumed that 5-6 years of improving battery technology might work to my advantage and the labeled AH difference might be a wash. Yes, a lower capacity battery module at 6.0 vs. 7.5 Ah, but MUCH cheaper to buy than the equivalent 7.5 AH Ego Power-branded offering. I tested the the 6.0 AH the best way I should: by mowing the lawn! I had to wait a while to allow the grass grow enough to try the battery out. My un-scientific verdict was that this brand new advertised 6.0 AH battery was actually closer to 4.8 - 5.0 AH. Not even close to the advertised 6.0 AH. Thankfully, Amazon was good enough to accept my return even after a few weeks had passed. I've read all the comments about having the proper combination of Ego battery and the Ego charger. But all of these batteries, including the Chinese knock-offs, are assembled with their own built-in BMS's. Fact is, LiFePo batteries could care less about being charged by a special LiFePo charger since the battery's own BMS regulates everything about the charging/discharging process internally. Ultimately, I bit the bullet and forked over for the new Ego Power-branded 7.5 AH battery knowing that while it seems to have the same amount of power I need to do the job, it will probably not last as long as it should. This is an issue which Ego Power and all its competitors need to address. All that said, the durability and overall build quality of all my Ego Power products are excellent. I look forward to trying out whatever new products they come up with. ... show more

  • Outrageous price but works great and lasts
Style: 7.5 Ah Battery
These are SO expensive. But note that they come with a 3-year warranty (so keep your receipt and register it at the EGO web ste). In my experience, they last at least 3 years. So Egopower doesn't lose much by warranting them.

  • Works now
Style: 7.5 Ah Battery
These batteries are pricey, and I hope the mower will last longer than my 1st Ego mower that only lasted 3 years and the battery lasted 7 years. My other batteries work but only works about 20 minutes, so used them as back up when power run out on the new battery.

  • Quality products from a super responsive seller
Style: 7.5 Ah Battery
I haven't used the batteries yet. I do have similar batteries currently and they are fantastic. I have a long driveway and bought these as extras for heavier storms. So I am hoping for the same experience with these new ones. But I am leaving 5 stars here for the seller - Jack's small engines - for how prompt they were about responding to some of my questions about the shipment. ... show more

  • The unexpected, but good
When I ordered this battery (May3), I requested the 7.5 Ah which was the most powerful available from Amazon, and what I previously had. The arrival date was indicated as May 9 - 11. My email confirm from Amazon indicated May 5 as the delivery date, which was great, as I needed to mow my fast-growing lawn. Note: My original battery died, as in would not hold a charge, after just over 3 years. The battery box inside the shipping box looked like it had been opened. The box contained the battery but no papers/manual of any type. The oddest thing, but, perhaps, best thing, was that the battery was 10.0 Ah. I was not aware that EGO made anything higher than 7.5 Ah. They actually make a 12.0 Ah, which was on the website for registering the product. The battery box indicates a 5 Year Warranty. The battery worked with my current charger, a super charger, I believe. I will be using the mower today! Note: The battery came from a third party seller. The 5 Star rating is due to the delivery speed and the fact that the charger fit! ... show more

  • Be careful when buying this battery
Style: 7.5 Ah Battery
Be careful when buying this battery from Amazon. If anything goes wrong within the warranty period, EGO will not honor the warranty unless the battery was purchased from them, not a third party vendor. I purchased this battery through my Prime Amazon Account. The battery performed poorly after a year. I called EGO directly. They had me test the battery. The test revealed the battery to be defective. But then EGO denied me warranty coverage because it was purchased through a 3 rd party vendor being advertised on Amazon. Amazon will not back the warranty either. Also the original vendor no longer appears to be in business. ... show more
