  • PTS is a lot like ALS, except where ALS only attacks the body
Color: Alpine White Size: 18"x17" Style: Swing away Footrest
I got this wheelchair because I have a very rare, Advanced, Aggressive, and Progressive Recurrent Subtype of Neuralgic Amyotrophy (Parsonage-Turner Syndrome). In the last year I've gone from walking to using a cane, to using two canes, to needing a Rollator, to this wheelchair, to this wheelchair and now two arm crutches for when I absolutely have to walk because I've progressed so quickly we haven't had time to build any ramps on the house because I keep speeding up in my degeneration. And 8 weeks I was supposed to be setup to get a motorized wheelchair but I apparently fell through the cracks at my neurologist's office which I have to speak to him about tomorrow. 8 weeks of lost time is a lot of lost time when you're terminal. PTS is a lot like ALS, except where ALS only attacks the body, PTS can also attack the Central Nervous System...that's part of what makes my case rare and why I'm in the wheelchair. This wheelchair has been my saving grace. It's comfortable, it fits me perfectly at 6'1". I know there are a lot of people who complain about this not fitting taller people, but this easily fits me. I started off in this chair in November 2016 at 273lbs and it fit me, I'm now at 160lbs in April 2017 and it fits me even better. I used to be able to push myself but that time has passed. But when I could it was easy to do. My caretakers (family) are very happy with the fact that this wheelchair is so light at only 25lbs and that it fits in my trunk. Note: this wheelchair does not fit in smaller sized trunks of sedans like the Toyota Corolla and trunks designed like it. Similar trunks will be found in Hondas, Nissans, etc. I have a Ford 500 which is a large sedan which it easily fits in. And of course vans, suvs, and trucks are no issues. I wouldn't recommend getting this wet though as it does take some time for it to dry. But the padding on the back and bottom of the chair do some off and are machine washable and dryable. Caution though, you will have to reform the padding in the cushioning to get it back to flat if you do this. I've only had to do this once and it wasn't much of a pain but it is a little annoying and mostly happened with the larger seat cushion. I would if you're bound to a wheelchair all the time get a wheelchair cushion because while this will be comfortable for a few months you will want something else after a while. And you will NEED something else to try to prevent Hemorrhoids which come from sitting all the time. (Basic note: if you're new to this and it hurts to go and you see bright red on the tissue, you have Hemorrhoids, make an appointment with your GP or Gastroenterologist). I additionally got the Karman Universal Folding Headrest Karman Universal Folding Headrest for Wheelchair, Arctic Silver, Large, 20-22 Inch which I have found to be absolutely necessary for comfort, but in addition to my Parsonage-Turner Syndrome I also have Cervical Facet Arthropathy and Degenerative Cervical Disc Disease, along with two Bulging Discs at C3-C4 and C5-C6 (both right-lateral). So for me a headrest was beyond necessary, but it also provides a place for you to rest your head and even sleep during long waits for doctors or scans or in the car if you have a modified vehicle. I'd highly recommend buying the pair together. That headrest is only $158 but it's worth so much more in ease of muscles and total body comfort, you wouldn't believe how much of a difference it makes in just having that there to relieve the weight from your head. (My head weighs 10lbs which exerts a lot of force the muscles in my neck, shoulders, and back. Your head weighs at least 8lbs so consider that stress it puts on your muscles and the stress headaches that follow). ... show more

  • Our new wheel chair.
Color: Alpine White Size: 18"x17" Style: Swing away Footrest
Great comfort, easy and light to store in the back of a small SUV. The only negative is the front wheels are too small, attempting to pass a 1 inch thrush hole is almost impossible.

  • Riding in Style and Comfort!
Color: Rose Red Size: 16"x17" Style: Swing away Footrest
The Karman S-Ergo115 chair is absolutely terrific! It arrived with incredible speed, and was very easy to assemble. The fit and finish on this chair are extraordinarily good. It's as well designed and constructed as any wheelchair I have ever seen, and is amazingly light weight. The quick release wheels pop off with the touch of a button, allowing the chair to be stowed easily in the back seat of our car. In fact, the size is so compacted when prepared for travel that two S-Ergo115s will fit into the back seat. While most wheelchairs have the dark gloomy look of something belonging to a hospital or nursing home, the shiny Rose Red S-Ergo115 is ready to proudly roll down the road in a parade. It's amazingly comfortable and a true joy to own! Thanks so much for such a great product!! jon ... show more

  • A Very Nice Wheelchair
Color: Rose Red Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Swing away Footrest
I bought this for my wife's use. It has improved her posture and she appears more comfortable in it than her old wheelchair. Being narrower, she can roll it all the way into our bathroom, something she couldn't do before. I like the chair's lightness and folding seatback. They make this chair very portable. You do have to watch out for loosened nuts and washers every so often! ... show more

  • Karman S-Ergo 115 Wheelchair
Color: Alpine White Size: 18"x17" Style: Swing away Footrest
I ordered this chair at discounted price because it was in opened box. Description listed it as Used/Very Good. It looks new to me; perhaps it was returned for some reason. My husband reports that the wheelchair is comfortable. It's sturdy and lightweight. I am 77 YOA and can fold it and put it in the back of our SUV. Exactly what we needed. One complaint: the directions in the manual for folding/unfolding the chair were a little difficult to understand. Easy operation once I figured it out. ... show more

  • Push bar spacing to wheel leads to cut up hands
Color: Rose Red Size: 16"x17" Style: Swing away Footrest
I was very excited for this chair because of the reviews. I first purchased the 18in version and realized I needed 16in so I purchased that. Everything seemed fine with the 18in but I didn’t removed the plastic wrapping on the wheels because once I sat in it it was clear I got the wrong size and I intended to return it…. I only found out After getting the 16” wide chair that Amazon does not take returns for this. Great. Once I got the 16” it was clear that there was a big difference in the force that it took to fold and unfold the wheelchair. The chair comes off the ground when I lift the seat to fold the 16” and that didn’t halogen with the 18”. This is dangerous for me and a big disappointment. Secondly it take a lot of force to flatten it unfold the seat compared to the 18” and it makes a loud bang when it unfolds. I don’t know about you but I already get started at enough in a wheelchair I don’t need people looking around to find the source I’d a loud Bang when I get out of the car. Lastly and this is the real reason this chair is almost totally un-usable… the push rim near the wheels is too close to the wheels And the tires have two ribbed lines on the outer edge. These two things combined mean that the meat if my thumb/hand that is closest to the chair gets chewed up by rubbing against the weeks and a sharp ridge on the wheels no less. This is super disappointing because it’s 100% avoidable by not having that ridge on the tires and by having proper spacing from the push rom to the wheel itself. I can’t use a chair that forces me to wear gloves or that cuts up ky hands. Super disappointing and now I’m stuck with 2 chairs I can’t use and am out 1200 because I swear it said Free returns when I ordered and now won’t let me return. But either way, big disappointment that the 16” chair specifically is too hard to fold and unfold and can’t be self pushed without chewing up your hands over time. Massive design flaw. ... show more

  • A good wheelchair but way overpriced for what you get
Color: Pearl Silver Size: 20"x17" Style: Swing away Footrest
Purchased chair about 2 months ago to replace the standard wheelchair that you get from Medicare. My expectations go up as the price goes up so if this was a standard Medicare chair I would rate it 5 stars. However, this chair costs about 4 times more and based on my experience after 2 months of use I feel a price around $300 would be reasonable. It is a well built chair, light weight, easy to fold, brake handles well designed and easy to use and it does not have that institutional look. The seat and back cushion are okay so far, but they seem somewhat thin and flimsy and I have some concern as to how well they will hold up. The plastic side pieces on the side by your thighs are flimsy and confining. Might be more comfortable if they were eliminated. The Ergonomic claim for the seat and back cushion is way overblown. Probably would be more accurate if the seat and back cushion were more substantial. ... show more

  • Mostly great!
Color: Rose Red Size: 20x17 Inch (Pack of 1) Style: Swing away Footrest
All in all a good wheelchair. Light but sturdy, easy to collapse and unfold, solid brakes. The one complaint I have is that there is a black velcro strap that is supposed to keep the occupants feet from falling back off the footrests, and unfortunately it gets in the way when folding the footrests up temporarily and it does not allow the entire foot rest arms to be folded outward out of the way without taking the strap off. This is inconvenient when getting in and out of the chair. ... show more
