Got the fan to stay cool and keep the mosquitos down on our ground floor small open back yard deck. I had narrowed it down to a few fans and was nervous that the K Tool fan had less than 20 reviews even though they were all good but while researching I learned it had more range between it's 3 speeds than the similar fans I was checking out so I went for it. Firstly it's beautiful, sounds silly I know but the photos don't do the silver, chrome, and black justice. We just have a small grill but the fan would look sharp next to a big fancy one. All metal, hefty, and sturdy, the wheels do come in handy. On our small deck the slowest setting is plenty strong enough just pointing it at the patio table 10-15 feet away. It's sounds kind of like a drone but a little lower pitched and about as loud. The higher settings aren't a lot louder, if I had the room I would put it further away but it's not so bad you have to shout or anything and you do get used to it pretty fast. When summer comes might be cranking it up all the way anyways. Won't be able to use paper plates or anything like that near it even on slowest setting. The oscillating feature is more to keep the air moving in a large room like a repair garage so I don't use that feature but I think worth the extra 20 bucks in case I find another use for it. I was nervous about assembly but when I opened it there were only 7 parts and a short simple list of steps, took me leisurely half hour. The bottom of the underside of base is very very sharp so gloves might be a good idea before trying to take it out of the box. Doesn't matter with our deck but if you're going to put it on a nice flooring you might want to lay down a throw rug or section of artificial turf. The motor has some sharp edges as well so be careful attaching it. Once the box is opened it's flimsy so be sure to have it where you plan to assembled it before opening it. The fan is heavy and well made. Moves a lot of air, even on low speed. Not quite as quiet as I had hoped but still quieter than plastic blades. Assembly requires some time to consider next step before securing the parts. Not the best directions, in my opinion.

I got the 18 inch for my bedroom. Upstairs in my place is almost a 10 degree difference on 90+ degree days. Definitely better quality than most all plastic fans. Makes a huge difference on hot nights. Adjustable height is nice. Moves more air than cheaper plastic ones I've had. Sleep cool friends.

The media could not be loaded. So this is my 3rd purchase and i didnt realize until one day after that the fan makes a loud clicking sound and i didnt notice it on the other two because its on during the day and off at night when its quite. Well the 3rd one i bought for my daughter thats when we noticed at night it was making a clicking sound that would bothering her . So i exchanged it thinking it was defective. Well when i git the replacement it was the same thing. So i decided to use the other 2 at night when its quite and yup they all make a bad sound ugh and i got ride of the boxes and its hot so i need them but please dont waist your money on these fans .
