Description

This K&N NextGen cold air intake system is engineered for Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 HD V8 6.6L F/I. A high-density polyethylene (HDPE) rotationally molded tube helps increase the volume of airflow by 83.2% to your engine and provides an increase of 20.56 horsepower and 28.1 torque with no tune required. This intake system is paired with a washable, reusable High-Flow LIFETIME Air Filter featuring oiled cotton filter media. The oversized, conical design allows you to go up to 100,000 miles between filter services under normal highway driving conditions. Item arrived well-packaged in the original K&N box. Installation is pretty straight forward (as is usually the case with K&N products). Removal of the factory air box took some effort to release the lower intake support clip. The provided replacement hose for the PCV is too short by about 3/4". I was able to get it to connect (barely) but I replaced it the next day with a longer section of hose. The relocation bracket for the coolant hose and wire harness is a little flimsy and the holes didn't line up exactly for the coolant line retention clips. I ended up removing the coolant clamps and relocating them slightly to make it fit properly. After the install, I was getting a "CHECK ENGINE AIR FILTER SYSTEM" warning every time the truck was started. A little research on the internet helped me disable this message. There seems to be a pretty good increase in power, especially in the mid-range RPM. There is definitely an increase in engine noise under full throttle. There is not a noticeable increase in noise while under light throttle. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relatively cheap upgrade. ... show more

Easy install and well worth the money even though at time of review, the price went up $50. I would have still payed the $400 had I not bought it during a sale on Amazon. I installed this on my truck before going on a 2000 mile road trip. My truck is still very low miles with 6500 on the clock so far, but I must say that highway driving I was getting 16MPG average at around 70MPH. It has a deep throaty growl to it when you get on it, but it is quiet when you don't get on the gas. I will admit that I tend to take off faster off the line now since installing this since I want to hear the roar. Anyway, I did not have enough time to pick up the cat back system to go along with this before my trip, but now that I am back home, I am buying the MBRP system and hope that the combination of the two beefs up the sound and power of my truck. You will need to buy the filter oil if you are making this a wet filter. I have had this setup for 9 years on my 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 All Terrain and already had the clean and oil kit purchased from K & N, but I did end up buying the red filter sock here from Amazon (K&N RF-1020) to complete the install after oiling the filter. Very happy with the purchase. Would definitely buy again (as evidenced). Would definitely recommend to a friend. ... show more

First off the instructions are not very clear at all. I’ve installed many of these on different trucks I’ve had and this one is all over the place. The pcv hose supplied was way too short, the worm drive clamps wouldn’t tighten properly luckily I had both the clamps and hose in my garage so I replaced them. The air filter element came dry so I had to oil that. The mass air flow sensor slot I had to use a dremel tool on to widen it out so the sensor would even fit. After install was complete the truck was started and ran fine. I think the quality control is less than impressive and should be re vamped as this kit was thrown together on a Friday or a Monday…… ... show more

Awesome quality and easy instalation on my 2023 2500. I took my sweet time removing the stock intake to make sure I didn't damage any of the plastic clips. After that was out, putting this in took 10 additional minutes. Filter quality is high as always with K&N. What really stood out was the rubber boots are substantially improved from the system I put on my old 1999 Silverado. They were flexible enough to work with but can tell the durability will last. I also love the new color of this intake tube. My engine bay looks cleaner and in combo with my Borla exhaust it sounds great and noticeably improved throttle response. The biggest win, I'll never have to buy a new air filter again for the life of the vehicle. ... show more
