Sounds great! 2022 pro4x frontier sounded meek. Chose the open filter design so I could hear the engine open up. Absolutely howls at WOT. Got what I expected. Sounds unremarkable if you're easy on the throttle or maintaining speed. Definately adds to the fun factor, nothing noticeably different with mpg or hp. Install was an easy swap. All necessary components to install were in the box. I didnt run into any complications with horn placement. Most difficult part was wrenching a 10mm bolt on the oem housing that was set in a pocket that wouldn't receive a socket and ratchet. 15 minute swap start to finish. ... show more

I’ll begin with noting a missing part which had to be shipped to me (hump coupler). The kit comes with 2 rubber boots that connect each end of the tube and they are of similar construction as a typical reinforced hose (i.e. radiator). They are too small to get them onto the tube due to poor design dimensions and excessive paint build-up. Example: straight coupler is 3.5” x 3.0” but the tube O.D. Measured 3.259. I was forced to use my belt sander to remove the paint on the intake end of the tube. As for the end product, it will increase HP and engine noise. I am happy with the purchase but proper tolerances and paint thickness QC would make the installation much easier. ... show more

Wonderful product and I have been using this companies since 1997. My review for anyone buying the product is to review products of dents / scratches, and missing parts which I experience… my bad for dissembling my entire filter to put in k and n filter only to be missing parts and dents all over product., I am loyal to k and n products… I just trying to save peoples time to double check all parts before installing. ... show more

    • Great filter that could have been installed a lot quicker...
I've had a lot of K&N cold air intakes over the years - great products. My only issue with this kit is that when they painted the intake's tube, they didn't install a hole/plug cover where the CCV hose fitting goes so all the threads got painted. On top of that, the CCV hose fitting is aluminum so if you don't clean out the threads all the way, it can seize in place really easy because you can't put any serious amount of torque on it without rounding or marring the hex bolt portion. The install should have only taken 30 minutes but it took almost 90 because I had really work to get all the paint out of the threads. ... show more

Fits perfect in my Nissan 22. The sound is amazing. It does gain some power on low revs but does not help with gas mileage.

Love the performance upgrade but the fact that it came with missing parts and the tube bent on both ends is ridiculous. I feel like that’s why it was discounted. Or just my luck
