Description

This K&N cold air intake system is engineered for your vehicle. A mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube helps increase the volume of airflow to your engine and provides a guaranteed increase in horsepower and torque with no tune required. This intake system is paired with a washable, reusable High-Flow LIFETIME Air Filter™ featuring oiled cotton filter media. The oversized, conical design allows you to go up to 100,000 miles between filter services under normal highway driving conditions. A custom designed open heat shield helps protect intake air from the high temperature of your engine bay, and the entire system can typically be installed in less than 60 minutes. I looked at other lower-cost options for the air intake. I decided that I wanted to try K&N since i see their logo's everywhere, and just see if it lived up to their reputation. If you look at the gas milage pic I took, that is at least a 2 mpg improvement for me when I can keep my foot out of the gas. But that's the problem now. My Cherokee was always laggy on the throttle. I could push the pedal to the floor, then let off immediately and the engine would never rev. Once I put this cold air intake on there, it made a huge difference. I am much happier with the performance now, but you have to be careful as it will cause you to lose that MPG gain. ;) It also sounds much better. When you get it going right there is a throaty growl that makes it sound very different than the tame Jeep it was. I highly recommend this if you need a little better take-off or throttle performance, or just some better milage. It makes a difference on long trips. ... show more

    • Sporty sound, faster acceleration, easy install, would buy again.
2016 Jeep Cherokee V6, easy install, only issue was pulling out the factory air box, yes only 3 bolts but the push pins were really tight, need to pull hard. The engine has a nicer, sporting sound at certain rpm but not at all intrusive. Power boost and mpg increase, maybe, car does feel faster, as for mpg, put this on early in ownership so no baseline to compare. Mixed driving, soft on peddle I'm getting around 26-27 mpg, good in my book for the weight of this Jeep. Would buy again, nice addition. ... show more

    • Easy Install - Immediate Difference while Driving
This is a simple add-on that takes less than an hour to install. I reset my PCM and could tell an immediate difference with torque and shifting patterns. GPM increased by about 1-2 for day to day, but increased by about 4 gpm on the highway at cruising speed. BUT... if you get on the throttle expect the economy to drop! I bought a performance chip. This is the third vehicle I've used this on (1996 GMC Canyon, 2000 Jeep Cherokee, 2016 Jeep Cherokee) ... show more

The bulge sleeve from the heat shield to the intake tube was missing. Had to go to local auto parts store to find something to work. I figured I’d get what I ordered when I paid almost $400.00 for an intake. Will never buy K&N products again.

2015 jeep Cherokee trail hawk It definitely made a noticeable difference in hp and the engine sounds more girthy when you get on it. I just put it on so I don't know if it is going to increase gas mileage yet i am guessing it will most likely not by much. I do think it should be a little cheaper priced for what it is. if you add this and change the exhaust system it should really add 20 - 30 hp plus better mpg ... show more

I paid way less even with shipping and it was worth it. Nothing wrong with the intake itself. Easy to install. Took me about an hour and a half and took it for a spin and boom! The sound was there and the slight difference in torque was there. Looks awesome when I pop the hood. Love K&N!
