I don't leave a lot of reviews, as I'm a pretty busy guy, but, man, am I happy with this addition to my 2006 Chevrolet Colorado! The sound and look is a nice change, and I habent officially measured any horsepower gain, although I can definitely feel it when hitting the gas. The major gain, though, at least for me has been the gas mileage. I can't give a specific number yet (I'll update later), as I just installed on Friday, but I can tell that it's doing a lot better than it was and i can say that without a doubt it has to be that the engine is just "breathing" better. It makes sense, too, if you look at my pictures. The whole idea of the "vortec" is to help airflow in and around the engine, but if you look, the opening for the filter box is less than 2"! Open up all of that wasted space with the K&N intake and of course you get better airflow! I'll try to update after a few tanks of gas and when I know better how the real mpg is. ... show more

Another great K&N product. Everything needed was in the kit, the instructions were easy to follow, and it looks great in the engine compartment. The performance increase is subtle, but the engine seems more willing to accelerate and it powers right up the five mile grade to where we live with a steady foot on the throttle. No increase in gas mileage, but no loss either. I occasionally get a lean condition check light when starting warm after sitting for an hour or less, but it goes away after a few more start-ups. The Flownaster cat-back system probably exacerbates the problem. Anyway, it's a good intake system and I'd recommend it to anyone. ... show more

Nothing in the box matches the items in the instructions. The kit I ordered was a specific kit just for my truck and literally not one part works on my vehicle. Do not waste your money on this garbage BS

2006 Hummer H3 3.5 I5 First off idk why they put such a measly engine into a Hummer... BUT, this is an inexpensive way to boost HP, torque and fuel economy. I highly recommend. Easy install and it was fun doing. Sounds weird but working on your vehicle forms some sort of bond, anyway, engine noise was much more significant when reving the engine or flooring the pedal. Sounded like i added an exhaust system, keep that in mind when adding this. I have this and a Gibson exhaust and together they make for a very significant performance boost. ... show more

This is a high quality product no doubt. However, adding this onto a 2006 Hummer H3 it caused a variety of issues; mass air flow sensor jacking up, electronic pedal not knowing how to increase the octane and the list can continue. If I was not a mechanic and was not able to diagnose the issues i would have sold it or take a loss and install the original system back onto the Hummer. I truly love it now that everything has panned on out. Keep in mind if you put this on your old rig, you will run into some issues just be prepared. Love it now! I've waited a few months to post my rating & comments to provide an objective review. Upon installation along with a Throttle Body Spacer, we immediately experienced the check engine light as several other reviews have mentioned; K&N customer service was very responsive and simply cleaning the air sensor resolved the issue. Experienced substantial increase in pick-up from both a stop and while at speed. The H3 takes the climb up to 7,000 feet much better and at lower RPM than before installation. Gas mileage fluctuates, but generally about the same... my son loved the tone and was kicking into it, the net effect was -2.0 mpg., but once I called him on the data, we're running about +0.5 mpg. If your H3 can't get out of it's own way, you'll be pleasantly surprised with this after market upgrade. My only criticism is that the heat shield was not properly formed and we needed to shape it by bending the creases to properly fit the engine compartment. ... show more

Just installed yesterday and I love it you can definitely feel the horses and hear the CAI when you accelerate you get about +14 hp based of the dyno and about +7 mpg would recommend to anyone looking to get alittle power
