    • Great addition to my 2008 Toyota 4Runner (4.7L)
I installed this intake on my 2008 4Runner (4.7L) in early 2011. Installation only lasted about 2 hours (with help from the girlfriend). The intake noise is definitely noticeable as are the power gains. What surprised me, however, was the increase in gas mileage. I've read some reviews where people have said this is unlikely or impossible. Well, my 4Runner went from getting 19-20 MPG (@65mph) to 21-23MPG. Moreover, we recently towed a Toyota Corolla from California to North Dakota through winter weather and mountains. We averaged almost 18 (17.6) MPG over the whole trip with a 3,000LB car behind us. Don't let the intake noise scare you from this purchase. It growls a lot if you're deep into the throttle, but it's barely noticeable at highway cruising speeds. One piece of advice: when you install this intake, use Loctite or some other thread adhesive to secure all of the screws and clamp in place. Before I re-installed certain pieces using Loctite, I had to constantly readjust where the filter was in the engine compartment. After about 200 miles of normal driving, the filter (and intake hose) would swing a few millimeters and vibrate against the air filter shielding. I don't like rattles or extraneous noises coming from my truck, so I did something to fix it. The fix was Loctite. Power gains, throaty sound, and increased gas mileage make this a great buy for your motor. Get it! ... show more

I installed it in my 2007 4Runner (4x4, V8) and it works great. It took me about two hours to replace the stock Airfilter but I took my time since it was my first time working on this car. Update: Watch out... as mentioned on the Product Description - Not legal for highway use in states adopting California emission regulations!!! This means you won't pass any Smog Check in California. Need to put my old filter back - that sucks. ... show more

Very easy instal with minimal tools. Definitely improved my MPG by two miles. All the parts needed to install were provided and the instructions were precise. I have noticed that it does make my engine just a tad bit louder upon immediate acceleration but at cruising speeds its not noticible at all. Highly recommend. ... show more

Mileage is definitely improved. Not overly impressed with the kit. I have to trim the pipe because it's rubbing on the coolant recovery reservoir, so fitment is a problem. I need to trim about a quarter inch off where it meets throttle body. For what's in the kit, these should be about 150 bucks. It does what it says it does, except the fit. ... show more

Fit perfectly. No installation issues whatsoever. Very clear and detailed easy to understand directions. I put this on a 2005 Toyota 4runner 4.7 V8 4WD Sport Edition. It really roars now. Sounds beast. Gas mileage hgas increased by 2 on the highway. I haven't tested in the city yet.
