I just installed the intake last night and I'm very happy with it. The directions were very thorough and easy to follow. I was a little surprised how thorough this kit is. They thought of everything for a really clean and solid installation in these old trucks. In almost every vehicle I've owned, where I've used a washable K&N filter, I've averaged about a 2 MPG improvement. I'm sure this cold air intake will be the same or better. They even send their Dyno testing results with the kit. Pretty cool. Update! I can feel the difference! It's not a kick in the pants or anything, but it woke this old work truck up! I feel the torque increase going up hills- I don't have to down shift quite as soon. And this is the first time I've heard my turbo, lol. Happy with the purchase. ... show more

My truck is a '96 F250 with 270,000 miles on it. I would never have thought to buy one of these K&N filters, except that the air filter cover on my truck fell to pieces, and Ford doesn't sell the replacement parts anymore. The filter was very easy to install, and the improvement in my truck's performance was immediately obvious. It revs up more quickly and pulls more strongly. I even get better fuel mileage. I don't know why Ford didn't do a better job of getting enough air to their great 7.3 diesel, but they didn't, and K&N did. I wish I had gotten one for my truck many years ago, and it is the best thing I ever bought for it, for the money. ... show more

My old filter housing was also cracked, and I have been wanting this set up almost, since my 1997 F-350 was new. WOW what a diferance this set has made. I live in the mountains 8,500 feet. Smoke from my tail pipe when pulling is almost gone, I can actualy here the turbo winding, and I do feel the engine is working much better. I should have bought this in 1997. Seller was very prompt, instructions were flawless. It took about an hour to install. ... show more
