  • Quality product
The media could not be loaded. Installed on my 2018 chevy cruze 1.4L with manual transmission. This product will unlock the turbo sound if that's what you're after, video included. If you don't want to hear your turbo every time you switch gears, this is probably not for you. The instructions are easy to follow but I have some advice for anyone installing this kit. The ⅝" hose included for the crank case vent, mine was 5" long but if you look at the instructions it's described as 2" long, it will need to be trimmed and the instructions don't explicitly tell you to do this. If left long, the chamber will rub the hood in the engine bay, I'll attach some pictures of that as well. Also, if you search the K&N website for this product, it has a PDF file of the same instructions but it will be in color. The product looks awesome under the hood, no modification is required of the vehicle, a beginner could easy install this product. ... show more

  • 2017 Chevy Cruze 1.4 liter turbo
Fit with no issues, but will say the Mass Airflow Sensor needs to be cleaned when the filter gets cleaned. Chevy has issues with that Sensor being ultra sensitive. Other than that item looks good and you can definitely hear the turbo dump gate when with this product.

  • Below K&N Average Quality But Will Work.
I'm on the fence about this K&N cold air intake for the Chevy Cruze at the moment. Starting with the installation, the instructions are very vague therefore you need to know what you're doing if you're going to get it right or it's going to be a pain and take longer to complete. I can't think about anything positive during the install but definitely negatives such as: 1) Heat shield poorly designed and formed to conform to engine bay so aftermarket studs can seat entirely in stock intake box mounting bushing grommets. 2) Intake tube is too short and does not properly extend to heat shield box like most kits to prevent the headache of installing filter with hose clamp thus a lot of configuration time between adjusting length on heat shield side by decreasing length of pipe in coupler going to turbo. 3) Location of MAF sensor on intake is poorly located for the proportioned location of the wired MAF SENSOR harness therefore attachment when completed causes strain on the wiring harness and connector. 4) Relocation of crankcase breather is very unorthodox and causes strain on EGR. 5)The noise this thing makes when you are just cruising through town gets annoying if it's just a daily driver. By all means if it's a toy car or your ricer racer, maybe that's your thing, but this sound isn't a turbo whistle you're thinking of.... 6) Let alone not having enough room to work in these cars as it is and having to take apart everything to work on one little part, your adding this much more you need to take apart and add to frustration for repairs as food for thought. As far as driving goes. I'm not sure where these fellows are getting the increased MPG from. To compare I have a 2017 Chevy Cruze 1.4L Gas turbo, everything is stock besides this intake now. This vehicle has 55k on it and the highest average MPG I have been able to reach was at a steady pace of 55MPH on a straight a way highway with no hills roughly 50mpg. I drive mostly highway long distance and after installing this filter there was no change over 200 miles at 55MPH, I was still 50MPG on straight a ways. I'm not saying it isn't possible to obtain this extra MPG, but this intake would only be capable of doing so with at least an aftermarket exhaust that would allow better exhaust flow as with any other vehicle. What must come in must go out, in order to get more air you must push air out, some back pressure is good but too much will reduce or limit power. Anyhows.... The positives: 1) K&N has not failed me yet when delivering that cold air into the cylinders therefore I enjoying knowing my turbo's life will be extended from overheating and my spark plugs will be prevented from being fouled up as much from a much better air/fuel mix while keeping the plugs a tad cooler to prevent additional stress and baking of soot on the electrodes. 2) I have noticed an increased response as now the throttle body is not limited to what the air box can hold but now what the throttle body can take. I used to feel vibration and more of a grumpy camel sound driving off from a stop. Now that has gone and passed with this. I can overlook the sound of the intake for the benefit of the throttle response. Overall... I think if K&N would have spent a little more time on this product then this could have been a high quality and great fit upgrade, I'm not sure the reason for the reason for the lessened attention to design because K&N usually is a great product and has time and effort put into it for a perfect fit, easy installation, and frustration free upgrade. ... show more

  • 2020 Trax
Thé install was a pain and the instructions were very vague. I had to use a different set of screws for the mad sensor which it did not give info on. Because this is a Trax and not a Cruze I had to make some adjustments screw the heat shield it won’t fit and it’s useless for a Trax I can’t speak for a Sonic or the Buick encore. I had to use the part that would’ve been used to connect the intake to the tube of the engine a little differently. I put it in the intake first then stuffed it inside the tube to the engine till it was tight there was already a hose clamp for the tube so all I had to do was tighten it and it fit perfectly. I had to use zip ties to wrap around the hose clamp and then use another to hold it up which wasn’t horrible and doesn’t look like shit if you do it well. My number one complaint is that my crankcase sensor is either somewhere else or non existent and was not needed so I had to find something to temporarily plug the hole up. I did order something for I replace this and solve the issue. Another thing is I have a modified exhaust and I for some reaosn it threw an engine code I will figure it out but in low rpm’s it’s very jerky when lightly accelerating I think it’s because of my exhaust so I may need an engine tune which I planned on anyways. There are some kinks to work out but it looks great and sounds amazing and was definitely worth the smiles per gallon 😁 ... show more
