🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The scooter in review has emerged as a contentious yet often lauded transport device, primarily appreciated for its off-road capabilities, durable battery life, and overall performance. It is celebrated by many for its versatility and reliability, enabling seamless integration into the adventurous routines of its users. Despite its largely positive reception for being a thrilling and dependable ride for teens and adults alike, the scooter has faced criticism over inconsistent product quality and packaging issues, alongside complex self-repair expectations from the company.

Pros

  • 🛴 Offers commendable off-road capabilities, appealing to adventurous users
  • 🔋 Impressive battery life, with users reporting extensive mileage on a single charge
  • 💨 High-performance levels and speed, with some models surpassing expected speeds
  • 💡 Additional features like lights and turn signals can be attached, enhancing safety and customization
  • 🚀 Reliable for daily use, integrating seamlessly into daily routines and recreational pursuits

Cons

  • 📦 Issues with packaging and minor damages during shipment reported
  • 🔧 Self-repair required for some issues, possibly demanding for those not mechanically inclined
  • 🚨 Inconsistent quality control, with some scooters facing operational issues such as reduced speed or battery life
  • ⚡ Complicated maintenance, especially for parts like the motor and battery

Should I Buy It?

If you're seeking a high-performing, versatile scooter with strong off-road capabilities and are willing to navigate potential inconsistencies in quality and self-repair challenges, this scooter could be a thrilling addition to your adventures. However, for those who prioritize ease of maintenance and guaranteed consistency straight out of the box, it might be beneficial to proceed with caution or consider other options.

  • Best of all the options.
I used to have a 300w scooter (max 19mph). I wanted to upgrade. First, I got an Evercross H5. It didn't accelerate fast enough and it wouldn't take my up the hill out of my neighborhood. Top speed was 23mph with my 200lb weight. Second, I returned that one and got a 2000W dual motor scooter here on Amazon. That thing was really fast (35mph), but it didn't have a slower acceleration. It was too jerky, so it wasn't safe for my 12-year old son. This is then my 3rd attempt to upgrade to a scooter that was safe for my son and fast/powerful enough for me. The JOYOR S is perfect. I absolutely love it. GOOD: It goes fast (over 25mph with my 200lb weight). It accelerates safely/gradually and quickly. It has slower speed modes, of course. It's powerful enough to take me up my hill, even at the lowest speed mode. The dual shocks are really comfortable; the ride is very smooth. The headlights are bright. I don't feel the need to get extra lights to see at night. Battery life is fine; I don't really have long distances go to, so I charge between trips. Especially for the price, this is such a good deal. NEUTRAL: It's kind of heavy. That doesn't affect riding. Loading it into a car just takes some care if you aren't ready to lift something of that much mass with mostly 1 arm. The left handle is the rear brake; the right handle is the front brake. That's reversed for what I'm used to. I can see how it makes sense, since the throttle is on the right, so if you need to brake quickly, you don't have to switch from throttle to brake handle; your left hand will just squeeze as you release the throttle with your right thumb. I can get used to it, but it is backward for me. BAD: Every time you turn on the scooter, you then have to pick a speed mode, or else the throttle doesn't engage the motor. I wish I have it automatically start at the speed mode I left it at. I haven't figured out if that's possible. Honestly, though, this is like the perfect scooter for me. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a stronger scooter than a 300W but is not looking to go driving a scooter on the city streets at over 35 mph. ... show more

  • WARNING!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!
Update #2 SCAM!!!! DO NOT BUY!!! I just received my scooter from the company. It was not packaged properly so a switch on the handlebar is broken and the base where you stand is scratched down to raw metal. I messaged them about it and his exact words were that “It’s better than I thought” and those are minor issues. He would send me another switch to repair it myself and a touch-up pen. This company is a scam. They are incompetent to even pack the scooter properly, then refuse to fix a scooter that they broke. It’s been over a year. I have now contacted Amazon and will begin working with them to help me get either a new, well-functioning scooter and the $200 they promised me. If they don’t come through I will be seeking legal action. I’m tired of companies taking advantage of people. UPDATE! WARNING! They started out by offering me $200 if I would replace the motor myself. They said it was as easy as changing a tube. Heaven help me if I ever have to change a tube!!!! It’s been a nightmare that has lasted 6 months and still going! The photos show. It’s not easy at all. First, you have to have a special tool - they sent me one. Then I received a bent motor as a replacement. Then you have to take the lights off. Then you have to remove the battery then splice into the battery. Oh and you need specific star keys bc you must remove the whole disc set up. Then hope you get it all back together. Did I mention they had to send a new tire too bc when I got I to mine it was ripped up inside? I refused after working hours and hours on it over the course of weeks. Now they want me to put it back in a box and send it so they can repair it. I’ve offered to take it to a local shop of their choosing, but they still want it mailed. It’s been 6 months of no scooter after I bought not one, but two! All I want is a scooter that works and instead, I have a pile of junk. Whatever you do, do not buy from them!!! Currently, I’m trying to get them to answer what they want me to do bc if I put it back in the box, it will break bc the packaging is designed to support the scooter on its tires. I will revise this when I have more info. Previous post : I purchased two of these for my partner and me. She weighs less than 120 lbs. I weigh 155 lbs. We went for our first ride. They are quick. Mine was going 25mph on the top setting, 18 on level 2. Then I realized she wasn't at full throttle. Her’s was MUCH faster. Minutes later, my battery was dropping and her’s wasn't. My speed dropped drastically. By the end of our 10ish mile ride, my battery was almost dead and hers was full. This is not a weight issue, bc we swapped scoots at one point and the fast one was still fast, and slow one was still slow. Mine also wouldn't coast, hers did. I think this is the issue. I feel my motor is breaking for some reason which is causing all the issues and the increased power consumption. I have emailed the company for resolution. They responded with a clarification and haven't responded since. I will give them another day or two, then I will be sending it back through amazon for a replacement. If you buy a unit, make sure it can coast well and the battery lasts or send it back. ... show more
