My kitchen is so well lit! Cutting and installing was nice and easy. The advice I wish I had paid attention to is that there is a knack to it. Go slow and steady with the work. Great for lighting up dark areas in my garage work cabinets and under bench. Can be cut at the designated areas for any length needed. It is a little tricky preparing the areas cut for soldering wires, but fairly easy and quick. I cut a few short sections to light up behind small parts drawers. I like these lights, they are easy to use and to cut if needed. They however do not stick to anything for very long. I applied two pieces to the bottom of a metal shelf. I cleaned the surface with alcohol before peeling only the blue strip off and applying to the shelf. About an hour later they fell off. I kept sticking them back up but finally gave up and applied a thin bead of a silicone sealant and stuck them to that. They are stuck now. So, although these are very nice lights, be prepared to provide you own adhesive. ... show more

This is the second set purchased, both sets were installed in my kitchen attached to a finished wood beam. Now both sets have fallen off within one day or after some use and the lights heat up. love the brightness. great for the price. but when it come to pill and stick, the stickiness may be a problem. I've or 30+ of these lights to apply these light in cabinets. sadly they did need extra attachment to secure then strips to prevent them for falling down. Great Price! Great Length, just need extra work to help maintain the original location on where you chose to apply it to. they will fall down! just add extra support because they need it... ... show more

The entire light strip is encased in flexible transparent plastic having a "D" shaped cross-section. This appears to make it both waterproof and resilient, but not capable of any sharp bends. The flat side has a continuous 1/4-inch strip of adhesive tape. I cut several two-inch segments with kitchen scissors at the cut lines. Each segment contains three LED's, and at each end, the copper contacts can be exposed on the back using an X-Acto knife to remove about 1/8-inch of the adhesive tape. I then soldered wire leads to the copper contacts on the back of each segment, and arranged the segments how I wanted on a perforated PCB board. I do not think it is wise to expect the adhesive to hold over time, so I looped small segments of bell wire over each strip, passed the ends through the PCB board and crimped them on the back side. ... show more
