We were using a halter and our dog didn't like it. We were afraid that he would back out of a standard collar. When he was in the car and walking on trails we would use the halter. Since we have the new collar he does't back out of it. He still pulls on the leash but he can't back out of the collar. Really glad we got advice from our daughter that this type of collar was the best.
