These are my first Ring cameras. The setup was a breeze. As a matter of fact setting up the 2nd camera was faster than the 1st because it automatically connected to my wifi without me having to do it manually. The pictures and sound quality are very good. The only thing about the picture is I thought that in 2k the pictures would be in color when it's dark. I also like the neighbors feature. My other security cameras didn't have this feature. The only thing that I would like is if the cameras automatically switched to away mode when you left your home instead of you having to do it, and it wouldn't detect you when you're home. My other security cameras automatically switched to away mode and didn't detect me when I was home. I like the fact that it records, but I don't know if I'm going to pay a subscription when the 30 day trial runs out.

Update: Ring customer service was great and managed to walk me through solving my issues over the phone. If you’re having any issues at all make sure to contact them. It could be a simple fix . Don’t waste your money. I thought this camera would be an improvement over the older version. Turns out it’s NOT! You can’t zoom at all because the picture is blurry, it takes forever to load the live view and when it does it’s not really a live view, more like a snapshot then you have to shut down the app and the open it to it to connect again. I’m going back to the older version

I own and successfully regularly use many Ring cameras, and I subscribe to the Amazon service. I wanted to add this new model to my collection, however with disappointing results. In a side-to-side comparison with my other 1080p Ring camera, the 2023 model, on the same wireless network in my home, I got much worse performance from this 2K Cam Plus model. The video is breaking up, lagging, and the camera disconnects frequently. It is unusable, so I am returning it.

UPDATE: After a few days of lost connections and a few resets the camera appears to be working great now. Ring did reach out to me to help solve my issues but I havent had time to talk with them. Initial review is this is the worst Ring Camera I've ever seen. Took multiple attempts to set up the camera. Live view will not load. Picture quality is not an improvement over previous version. The wifi signal is very good and I have multiple older Ring cameras in the same 10x10 room they all seem to work just fine while this camera continuously disconnects. Probably will return this camera and maybe try another one and see if it is a lemon also.

It works great. I have it in a bedroom so I can keep tabs on a patient and it follows the motion quite well. I can see any activity after lights are out so I like that as well. It works very well for my purposes.

I’ve had a ring cameras since they first came out. This is the worst camera of me of the 10 cameras that I’ve bought from them. It will not adjust correctly between daytime and nighttime. The video pictures are so small than when you try to expand it to even see somebody walking down the street it becomes distorted. The picture is so washed out at times, and it has problems of changing from night today or day tonight. I regret buying this, and I’ve been a fan of Ring since they first came out I think they pushed this one out way too early and letting the consumers find the flaws for them and it has a lot of them in my opinion
