The lights arrived neatly packed in a box, and carefully coiled & arranged to avoid getting tangled. This was appreciated since some strings of lights arrive requiring untangling which is a huge nuisance. You do get a lot of lights! I got 2 strings of the cool white ones. They are nice long strings of lights. The lights produce a light blueish - white color. Kind of frosty or snowy looking! It's great for Christmas, Hanukkah, or winter in general. You could also use it for spooky Halloween lights, though i think the other white color this company sells might be better for that. These lights can also be left up year round to add an elegant or ritzy touch to your yard, home, or business. Brightness: the lights are bright for solar string lights. No they are not as bright as electric lights or battery lights but they arent bad. If the solar panel gets several hours of sun, the lights will be quite bright and stay lit til dawn or at least most of the night. If they get SOME sun, they will stay lit for several hours. If they get little to no sun, they will still work but may be dimmer and may only last for a few hours. This is typical of most of the average- priced solar lights. But, we have had mostly cloudy weather for several days now, little sun, and these lights were still somewhat bright at 11pm! I was pleasantly surprised. I stuck the solar panels to the very top of a small tree so they do get plenty of direct light if not sun. If you need very bright lights that can clearly be seen from a long distance far down the road, electric or battery operated might be best suited for you. Also if you need lights that will be super bright even after days of totally overcast skies, it'd be best to go with electric or battery lights. But if you dont have a nearby outlet or don't want the hassle of batteries, these lights will get the job done! I love them. ... show more

I love that the purple and orange alternate so you get a good mix of the light. They're nicely spaced out and the strand is long enough to cover a bush or drape across the window. They hold up against the elements and throw off a good amount of light. They're not glaringly bright like traditional lights but they are perfectly visible from the street in front of your house. They last for hours too. I'll have some still twinkling and flickering away before bed until we wake up in the morning. I wasn’t sure when I got the package if these were going to be bright enough because the little lights were so tiny. So I made sure that the solar pack was charged in the bright sunshine. Then I put one strand up on one of the posts by my ranch entrance gate to see what it was going to do when it got dark. I was very surprised how nice it looked. So I put all the rest of the strands on the other three posts. The only drawback, of course, with any solar light is when it is cloudy for a couple of days, they do not light up. We've had these lights in the past so ordered this 2 pack because we have a couple of trees we wanted to decorate. They work perfectly but only got one set of lights instead of 2 and they reduced the price to reflect that. Was hoping for 2 but the other set ran for 4 years all year long.

They are pretty, but they only stay lit for about 3 hours at best. The solar charging units are not very effective. Was trying to use them as outdoor Christmas tree decorations. If your outdoor tree is in full sun for most of the day then you might have better results. For one tree I have in the woods, I put the solar charger on top of a fence post to raise it up and it worked better. But it is still not right. I am giving them a 3 star review which is probably too generous. Buy at your own risk. ... show more

Living in the "country" with long driveways and few neighbors, it's hard to decorate for the holidays. These lights are wonderful in that you can set them up, point the solar panel in the right direction, and let them do their thing. My last set lasted years till an unfortunate run in with a weedwhacker severed the cord. This batch has done well through an epic snow storm, still going strong. They are Rainbow and Bright, they are so easy to setup! You just put the solar panel in the ground (or in a potted plant in my case) and push the power button and wait til night and your lights will be glowing so bright and pretty. Then you can string up the lights how you want. 2 strings did my outdoor entryway. I love having the solar power so I don't have to run a cord into the house to power the outside lights. Also like just not having to use electricity or batteries at all, AND be able to leave these on all night long! ... show more

Only had them up a couple of weeks so can't speak to durability but so far working well. Definitely not as bright as normal plug-in bulbs but still plenty bright. I bought them to avoid running extension cords all across my yard to a tree in our front yard as I've done in previous years. It will also help with tripping any breakers when it rains.
