Thr directions are terrible. Absolutely terrible. But customer service was quick to respond, though I think there was a language barrier. It leaked for a while, slowly at first then in 2 days we lost 3 inches of h20. TIP:: AFTER YOU TIGHTEN THE RING, TAP IT WITH A RUBBER MALLET(my hubs used a towel and a screwdriver) this way you do some voo doo that will let you tighten the screw more. We filled it all the way up with sand. So far so good. You get what you pay for. Edit... it has been less than 1 month and the hose that attaches to the intake already has cracks and has broken. I cannot find a replacement anywhere in stores. Waiting to hear back from customer service. ... show more

    • Terrible instructions but seems to work ok so far

Instructions were very unclear. I wasted a couple hours of frustration trying to figure out how to use it since the instructions were only about how to put it together. And those instructions were not great either. Only pictures and you have to review them carefully to figure it out. Eventually, I was able to piece together information from Youtube videos on other similar filters to figure out how to operate it. One tip, you have to hook it up to a full pool for it to pump. I wasted time trying to just stick the hoses over the top of the pool wall into the water. That didn't work. When I hooked it up to the connections on the side of my pool, then it worked. I think it relies on the pressure of the water from the pool to work. Will see how it goes but at least for now, seems pretty well made and seems to be working ok. ... show more

So far this pump is very quiet, the instructions are terrible, no clear indication of how high to fill the sand in the filter. The fittings leaked a lot initially and required silicone tape to shore up the leaks. The hose clamps included barely open wide enough to install the hoses. The pressure gauge is fluctuating quite a bit, only time will tell if this unit will perform or die a quick death like other reviews have stated. ... show more

Finally have it installed and running but it was not easy. The pump itself seems to be working good but my goodness the insruction manual is a joke. If you are like me and this is your first time installing/using this type of pump I would look elsewhere as the manual gives no explanations, couldnt find any further instructions or help on company website or youtube. ... show more

Easy to install, works great with my 10'x13" above ground pool. Way better than the original pool pump. And the fact that you don't have to worry about changing filters is awesome.

I had it for Bestway above ground pool (3000 gallons). Assembly wasn't that difficult and tubes fit the standard 1.5" tubes. However, within one week, the pressure gauge stopped working and water got into it. Its filtering capabilities went down dramatically within 2 weeks of usage and looks like sand was already filled with a lot of debris that they started to come back to the pool. ... show more
