  • One works great; the other doesn't work well at all
I purchased two JLab Audio Talk USB Microphones for use in my office. One of them seems to be working fine. However, the second one is now sitting on my shelf collecting dust. People on the other end of calls repeatedly tell me that my voice fades in and out and is often distorted. I contacted the company during the 30-day return period and was told to plug the microphone into a rear USB port (which I did) and disconnect/reconnect the USB cord (which I did). After I did what I was told, the microphone seemed to work fine for a few weeks under limited use (roughly 3-5 calls per week) but the audio quality issues resurfaced again and seem to have gotten worse. Consequently, the microphone is now sitting on my shelf collecting dust. ... show more

  • BE WARY OF THE QUALITY.
BE WARY OF THIS MIC. I bought this mic as an upgrade because I needed the stand and the quality looked good. When I got the product the tripod was almost impossible to screw on. I was thinking it was the threads were misaligned. The threads were not manufactured the right way. Finally was able to muscle it on there. All of the plugs were tough too. It was tough to plug them in. Then I finally go to test the mic and plug it into all 4 of the ports on my 2020 MacBook Pro and it wasn’t picking up the input at all. I do not recommend this product. I could’ve gotten a shoddy unit but I’d rather spend $25 more on a highly rated Blue Product. Again be wary of this microphone. ... show more

  • Cannot adjust gain - microphone too quiet for use
I tried to use the microphone for a class room - zoom setting to pick up multiple voices without each person needing to turn on their own microphone. It was a failure. I have years of sound experience and know how to adjust settings, but every adjustment I made did not result in a more sensitive microphone. I tried to adjust the microphone over the period of a month, but to no success and then I missed the return deadline by 2 days. Be careful that you don't do what I did. ... show more

  • Great mic, but they need better service and some minor accessories
I got this so we could make live video with high quality audio using a cell phone. We might be playing music on a mountaintop or ridgeline one week and in a city park the next week. This mic is awesome, and it works well with a Samsung Note20 5G Android phone. Excellent sound, in stereo, no worries connecting (with a simple adapter), and only minimal stuff to haul in when we make a recording. Why only 4 stars? I tried contacting tech support to see if it would work with my phone and the only response was that they would contact me in one or two days. That was last week. Don't count on getting tech support. It does not come with a wind screen. Just a bit of foam or fake fur would have done the trick. Wind noise can be quite considerable. Still, I don't consider this a major problem because I still might be able to find a good one that fits. If nothing else I can break out the sewing kit and make something or just use an old sock, but the sound quality would suffer. It does not come with a pop filter. This is not a problem for me, but if you are speaking directly into it you will probably want one. Not a major issue, since you can buy a freestanding pop filter, just one more thing they seem not to have thought about. Overall this is an excellent product. I am glad I bought it. ... show more

  • Nice mic except for the loud mute button
Mic is great for recording and conference calls. Nice that there is a mute button right in front but the problem is the mute button toggle can be heard as a loud click on the audio. Would of gave it 5 stars if it was quieter or just using capacitive touch.

  • Great alternative for budget conscious content creators
Blue Yetis seem to not want to compete for value, features, and quality in 2020, and El Gato mics tend to be out of most people's ranges. I still wanted a quality microphone in the sub-100 price point that was just a step up from the Snowball and the Talk Go that I also tested, and this one is perfect. Good clear sound, really sturdy build and cord quality, and a nice stable/solid tripod stand. ... show more

  • Good value
I like this mic and it works great for the price I paid. Cheaply made mic for a cheap price....works. The only things I dislike are pressing the switch to toggle between gain and headphone monitoring. You have to remember or write down which is which. Green is the gain and blue is the volume / headphone. I had to buy a table top stand also because the stand is too small and you have to hunch over a bit to speak into it on a desk. The Mic patterns are also questionable and I only use the cardioid pattern for my podcast. These are my only complaints. Good buy though for what it is. ... show more

  • Stopped wprking after a few weeks.
The mic worked well for a few weeks, but then began randomly sending out extremely loud static noise during meetings. It would start without warning, sometimes mid sentence and persist until I was shouted at to mute my line, or was outright ejected from a meeting. I attempted to uninstall/reinstall drivers, tried different usb ports, and different cables,. I was unable to determine what caused the deafening noise, so I put it back in the box and bought a different one which has been working perfectly on the same computer. ... show more
