I have two wood stackers with wood (2x4) railings and arms. I drilled these in the arms of the stacker to use to hold a tarp down over my wood stack. I use carabiners to connect the tarp to these "D" rings. So far, they have not rusted, they are strong enough to hold a tarp in place, and they make it easy to secure the tarp. You can use rope with this but I just prefer the ease and speed of using a carabiner. The wood is for a firepit I may drill these into a tree to use to hang the pit tools too. I have a couple of log grabbers and a poke that I need to hang up out of the way. I could also put them in the arm of the wood stacker. I think either scenario would work with these rings. They have worked well with my tarp. ... show more

These were easy to install on my utility trailer. Although I didn't use the screws. I through bolted them through the wood and steel.
