  • Why we choose Indonesian rattan? The climate and soil conditions in Indonesia are ideal for the growth of rattan, leading to strong and flexible and durable fibers that is perfect for basketry. Furthermore, Indonesian rattan is sustainable and eco-friendly. This makes Indonesian rattan a popular choice for those who are conscious about the impact of their purchases on the environment. Indonesian rattan is considered the best in the world.
  • Using a bread proofing rattan basket for bakery has several benefits
  • Allows for proper airflow: Rattan baskets have an open weave pattern that allows air to circulate around the dough during proofing. This helps to prevent the dough from becoming too moist and sticky, and allows it to rise evenly.
  • Absorbs excess moisture: Rattan baskets have natural moisture-absorbing properties, which can help to remove excess moisture from the dough during proofing. This helps to create a better texture and crust in the final baked bread.
  • Provides support and shape: Rattan baskets are sturdy and provide support to the dough as it rises. This helps the bread to maintain its shape and prevents it from spreading out too much.
  • Creates a beautiful pattern: Rattan baskets often leave a unique pattern on the surface of the bread. This adds visual appeal to the finished product and gives it a professional, artisanal look.
  • Easy to clean: Rattan baskets are easy to clean and maintain. They can be wiped down with a damp cloth or washed with mild soap and water. They should be thoroughly dried after cleaning.
  • Overall, using a bread proofing rattan basket can improve the quality, texture, and appearance of the bread, making it a popular choice for professional bakeries and home bakers alike.

  • Bread making supplies for fun beautiful bread.
I was pleased with my order. My only wish was that the blade had the little tool that made holding the blade easier and safer.

  • I Prefer Tea Towels And Bowls
To begin, this banneton is barely large enough for a full Dutch Oven loaf of sourdough. I had used some rope-type bannetons some years ago and loved them for leaving the nice rice flour swirls on my Dutch Oven sourdough. The rattan, to me, is less desirable to use. The material can have a tendency to mold, split, or splinter when wet, so light wiping down is really the best way to clean it, if you don't use the liner. The liner has some large seams it it that distort the pattern that could be applied to the dough.it seems to me that using the banneton is a bit unnecessary if you are going to use the liner. That makes for a tough decision - don't use the liner and risk mold and splitting or use the liner and lose the design. About the best feature of this set is the dough cutter/scraper. This part is definitely the highest quality component. The rivets are secure and the handle material does not move around. The blade is sharp (not overly so) and beveled on one side. It is able to easily split the dough, as needed. I do wish I e of the corners were rounded, but that is not a negative. It doesn't seem like a lot of thought was put into selecting the measuring spoons. To be honest, this set reminds me of an infant's teething toy. The bright colors really don't go along with the aesthetics of the rest of the set. The lame is a pretty typical "bend the blade" style that I have never liked using. I prefer lames that hold the blade in place flatly and securely. The little synthetic leather cover for the blade slides off too easily and is dangerous to use. Best to remove the blade after each use, if you decide to use this. Lastly is the Danish style dough whisk. Normally, I just bake bread, but these whisks are good for thinner batters. For muffins, pancakes, and the like, these whisks work very well and waste a minimal amount of batter. That is about all I have to say for this one. It is really not for me, but if you like the style, it may fit your needs. The cost is decent for all that comes with the set. ... show more

  • Perfect Kit for Your Sourdough
This is a great kit for your sourdough. I started with a starter during the pandemic, like many did. I wouldn't say that I am too adventurous with it. I mostly stick to the same recipe, but I have the process pretty down. I have amassed some needed equipment like a scale, dutch oven, even a proofing bowl, but with a family of five and my skills getting better, the bread doesn't last very long, so I needed another proofing bowl. I saw this kit and at the price decided to grab it. I was excited to get a stainless steel scraper, as I only had a plastic one. Everything in the kit is exactly as pictured and as nice as the other sourdough equipment I have. The only thing that is out of place are the measuring spoons. Everything else has a traditional feel to it, and then there are these fisher price measuring spoons, which is kind of funny, IMO. I guess it depends on your recipe, but I don't even use measuring spoons in making my bread. I have a scale and measure water and flour out by weight. I suppose you could use them to feed your starter, but even for that, personally, I still weigh. The scrapers are an absolute must. My dough recipe is very wet and if you try to shape it with your hands, it will stick like glue. The whisk is great and having a lame is awesome. It's nice being able to quickly make different designs in the top of your loaf. I still can't get that great scored wave on the crust, so if anyone has any tips, I am all ears. Enjoy!! ... show more

  • Very good for starting bread bakers like myself
I did what many people did during the pandemic: I started to learn how to bake my own bread. I used my stand mixer for the most part then a glass bowl for the rise followed by a bake in my dutch oven. I was uncertain of getting more accessories for my kitchen that I was not certain of. Fast forward, I'm still taking time to learn to bake more breads and now willing to get those accessories. Having a kit much like this would have made more of an impact on my confidence at the beginning of my journey. I love everything that is included, except for the measuring spoons. They are like the ones you can find in the bargain section of a big box store and I measure everything by weight anyway. I did come to like this set a lot since the winter when I started using it. ... show more

  • Wonderful set for a beginner sourdough baker
This kit has everything you need to start a sourdough journey. I've baked bread for years and was wanting something more traditional to work with. My only complaint is that the measuring spoons feel more like something I'd have given my kids to play with when they were younger.
