    • It does the job
I purchased this product knowing that my window was not PERFECTLY half-round. The company instructions for hand-trimming the shade to a window that is not perfectly half-round would have been fine, except this was a light-blocking shade. That means I could not see through it to anticipate where to cut by hand; it is either a LOT of guesswork or a LOT of measuring. I used both. A MAJOR difficulty in working with the shade and the window it would be inserted into is that one "arm" of the blind has a very sticky adhesive tape for permanently affixing that half of the shade to the inner base of the window. VERY poor idea! The other half of the blind has an "arm" that attaches to the window sill using magnetic strips -- a MUCH better concept. After an hour of struggling with the tape, I covered it with paper and added magnetic strips to match the other side. What a difference! I could measure, remove the shade, cut, reinsert the shade, measure, etc. Also slowing the pace a bit is that I needed to use heavy-duty scissors to cut the light-blocking metal foil inside each shade cell. I did end up with a reasonably good fitting, light-blocking, blind that matched the color of my bedroom. As a result, I am pleased with the final result. ... show more

    • Blocks light effortlessly!
This shade is made of some type of wonder material--not quite paper, not quite fabric. I read reviews before making this purchase so I knew there would be some work involved in making this fit my arch but following a recommendation to use a ginzu knife (I very have one that has rarely been used in 25 years!) I measured, marked and cut the blind and I am not unhappy with the fit. The adhesive strips were struggling to stay in place on my textured window ledge so I placed few drops of gorilla glue on the stationery side to hold in place. I did the same with the magnet strips so the blind can still be opened and closed with ease. I'm in the process of selling my house and my realtor was quite impressed with this window covering! The blind looks beautiful, is sturdy and was easy to install. It completely blocks out the sunlight, which is what we wanted in this room since it gets the afternoon sun. *Note to seller: we would really like to purchase another one of these blinds in the tan/brown color but can't find it listed. The adhesion didn't hold and the blind popped up from the left side. Instead of returning it, as it is a good product and looks good otherwise. I went to Lowe's and got heady duty velcro strips and that did the trick.

In the description it says the length of the product is 72 in I'm not sure where the 72-in comes from because I have a 70 in window and when I received the product it is clearly only 24 in Long I don't know where the 72" comes from in one of the questions they answer it says it's the overall length of the product but I see nowhere unless it is including some kind of string that it could be even close to 72 inches ... show more

    • Being able to cut it was very difficult and instructions very poorly written.
we had to read the instructions over and over again and sometimes they still didn't make sense. Cutting the fan was very hard and it doesn't stick well on the window. other than that, the fan is quite pretty and it does it's job in blocking out the light. It has fallen off the window and we had to use nails in the end. ... show more
