It lives up to the hype, it's the real deal.
Style: Party Speaker
First off, I am not easy to impress with audio...I am used to custom built TC Sounds subwoofers providing the low end ...but these two 8 inch drivers are tuned well...and have fantastic output . Move lots of air through the port, without any noticeable port noise...well designed. What sold me on these ( I bought 2 of them, saw the drop to 649 bucks...jumped on it ), was watching a JBL 710 Teardown video...the build quality on these is amazing...they use an MDF braced enclosure under the plastic framing...dual fan cooled amplifier section at the top for better heat dissipation...its a tank inside as well as outside. The App is very robust, pairing the two 710's was not only easy...it stayed problem free the entire night of testing...lets just say I wish my pair of Hyperboom's pairing was a robust as this 710's is . Also, when updating the software...watch the speaker...the LED ring around the woofer mirrors the apps progress...what a COOL detail to think of. The BassBoost DEEP setting is FANTASTIC, the Punchy setting is HORRIBLE...set it to DEEP. It cant be all perfect ( Really close though ) , the AC input could have been better...the little figure 8 input plug is not good for plugging/unplugging on a regular basis. And the tweeters were a strange choice, almost as if JBL found a hidden stash of these old coned 2 inch drivers to use...they do OK...but lack in high end extension...and seem very directional. This would kill a critical listening speaker, but on this in your face monster speaker...It doesnt bother me much ( Hey, had to find SOMETHING to gripe about ) I gotta say, while I expected a lot from the 710 from the reviews and watching the Teardown video...the actual speaker delivered even more....believe the hype...this one is the real deal. ... show more

STOP LOOKING for a party speaker and buy this one now!
Style: Party Speaker
I have been shopping for a sound system to install in my workshop for months. I was looking at putting in a Bose in-ceiling system that would hide away in my surveillance closet and be invisible. However, that was going to cost me a few thousand dollars and take a while to install. I decided on instant gratification and started looking at these party boxes. The 310 was the one i was looking at as it was going to be appropriate for the space I'm putting it in. But then i thought, "why spend $this when i could spend a $few hundred more and get 800 watts?!" So i started looking at reviews, everything from the 310 to the Ultimate edition, and for the money and reviews the 710 won in my eyes. I received it yesterday and set it up, which only took about 20 minutes including downloading and installing new software/firmware and the app on my iPhone. The moment I turned it on and hit 'Play', I knew i made the right choice. Let me tell you, I am a stickler when it comes to sound quality, and for the $800 i spent on this, it's definitely the best for the money I've spent and is almost as good as a whole-house system. I have a 2000 square foot building with 4 rooms in it and i can hear it very clearly and crisp anywhere in the building. I don't care much for the mic/guitar inputs nor the lights, but i can say the lights ARE pretty cool-looking if wanted. Just buy this thing, don't bother comparing it to others. The only downfall (it's not for me but might be for some) is that it doesn't have a battery and is technically not portable. But, it weighs 71 lbs (due to the heavy subs and amp it takes to punch as hard as it does) and should be looked at as a semi-stay-in-place fixture. It has wheels and would be easy to move if you have an extension cord for the backyard, but I'm using it full-time in my studio. LOVE IT!!! Thank you, JBL, for making such an amazing product! **I rarely write a review and i buy a LOT of toys, but it would be injustice to not give this item the praise it deserves given how much I like it.** ... show more

Great bass nice streaming speaker
Style: Party Speaker
Grabbed two of these during a sale. Excellent for outdoor music streaming no battery like some others but they are great if you have a place to plug them in. Wheels could have been a little larger. App is easy to use also. Great sound for all types of music.

Buy two if on sale
Style: Party Speaker
If you buy one within 2 days you'll want two of these. Bought one in August, was 27 percent off ($599). Two days and price went up $200. Watched prices go up to $900/$1000 then November 12 seen it was at 699/ 18 percent off, bought another. 11/16 see price back up to 849. No regrets - paring works great, syncs up nice with light show and in stereo mode very nice separation. In a 12 x 14 ft room these are insane at 70 percent volume. Sound pressure so intense in room my 15" RTR Evictions act as passive radiators- excursion about 1", not exaggerating. Do yourself a favor if you love music and buy them. Run these up to 3 hrs at a time 70 to 90 percent volume and they don't break a sweat with dual cooling fans. No distortion but bass doesn't increase after 80 percent, just mids/tweeters get a little louder. Extremely well designed speakers. 11/17- Wanted to add these work great for watching movies ect. Run them 30 percent volume and explosions/gunshots/earthquakes sound awesome. Currently fixing rattles in my windows in living room, at 30 percent volume windows are making a lot of noise. ... show more

My wife hates it
Style: Party Speaker
This PARTYBOX is awesome! It is pretty big weighing in at 60 somethin lbs but it has wheels for a reason. I’m a bigger guy so it’s not an issue moving it but on the other hand my 7yr old boy moves it outside for me to show off how strong he is. The title says my wife hates it, reason being she doesn’t like loud music. I like the walls to rattle and boy it does just that. Pair it up with the jbl PARTYBOX app gives you complete control of bass boost if you like punchy bass for rock and country or if you like deep bass for edm and hip hop. The light features are great and add just the perfect effect. The thing is well built sturdy to stand or lay down and can even withstand pool splashes and surprise rain. Only downfall is plug in only but I can’t argue with it because of the power it has. I’ve got no problem running an extension cord for all the fun it adds. Overall this thing is amazing little pricey because I wanted to get a 300 for the portability but so happy with the purchase even the neighborhood kids love it from across the street, just be careful the parents will call you in ... show more

Wow
Style: Party Speaker
Man this thing is loud and really rattles your house, even more if you live in a mobile home. I absolutely love the light show it puts on when you play music. I got it on sale and boy am I glad I bought it, was more than willing to pay full price if I had discovered it sooner. It's big and heavy but comes with wheels and a grab handle for easy moving. It does NOT come with a built in battery, only plug for an outlet. I think if it came with a battery it would be way too heavy. Everything works perfectly on it, will probably be the last speaker one could really buy, in my opinion it's perfect. Only one complaint is it's plastic so it scuffs really easy ... show more

If it’s on sale GET IT!!
Style: Party Speaker
Wanted a portable home speaker. Was looking at the specifics of wattage and amps, this one made the most sense. Not portable but packs a punch. I got it on sale months ago for $549 out the door. At first it’s not so loud, but play music for a while at low to medium volumes and it breaks in really quick. Once broken in the bass hits pretty HARD. As a bass head myself for at home use it’s a little too loud for me. Bass travels as some of you may know. Volume is loud, voice sounds great, quality comes down to how you got your music, speaker does an amazing job of delivering. I originally got this as a “rather have it and not need it” type deal. And I’d buy a second time if I had a choice, highly recommend! ... show more

Stop here. You don't need the Ultimate.
Style: Party Speaker
Got 2 of these 710s on sale for $599 and I am thoroughly impressed. The sound is superb, even on the punchy bass setting. Very full and LOUD. This speaker is different from my 310s. I never used punchy on those but this i find that rock, country and even some rap sounds great. Deep bass is good if youre listening for digital bass, which these 710s do produce quite well down to 30hz. They sound just as good outdoors as they do indoors. Not big into the RGB lights until now. These are very bright and colorful especially in the dark they light up the whole room. You don't need the Partybox Ultimate. At less than half the price, this 710 is plenty enough for 99% of people out there. Very pleased with this masterpiece! A+++ ... show more
