This makeup kit really is comprehensive; there's so much stuffed into one little bag! A variety of brushes, lip colors, eye shadows, foundations/accents are included, along with a smudger, eyeliner, mascara, and eyebrow pencil. Some of the items are self explanatory while others are less so, but for the most part the packaging is labeled. One of the plastic cases was broken in mine despite careful packing, though, so just be aware of that. The makeup goes on easily and looks nice, but it will definitely smear if you're sweating/rubbing your skin. The foundation is primarily designed for light-skinned individuals, but there are some darker shades included in the eyeshadows and other facial accents. Not all of the lipsticks show their color on the case, which means that you have to open the lipstick every time (a little annoying but not the worst thing), and the cases of colors are likewise not labeled so you have to learn what each one is so you're not opening everything every time. There is no mirror included, so you'll need to be near another one while you're applying this makeup. This is not the make up kit you get an older teenager or adult. This is the kit you give to a 10-13 year old to play with make up. It's real make up but not high quality. Everything works. Some things are very pale, and other's stand out a lot (there's a red lipstick, and some of the glitter eye shadows are intense). The concealers don't really conceal much. And the eyeliner pencil doesn't come with a sharpener. My biggest complaint is that once you pull everything out of this kit, you cannot get it back in the bag well. The bag is like a bag for a tent - everything fits fine from the manufacturer, but once you use the contents, they'll never fit back in again. If you gift this set, gift it with a make up bag that has compartments for all these products. The plastic on the compacts if very cheap quality. But the make up applicator is pretty good. The brushes are decent, too - minus a little over glue when they were assembled. This isn't dollar store quality, but it's also not a kit an average 14 year old would like much. ... show more
