We have them charging on the outside of a storage container so we have to disconnect the cords from them to turn on inside. Its a little inconvenient but when we do that they are super bright. Love the separate charging and lighting panels which allows me to put the charging panel where there is sun and the lighting panel where there isn't. Love the 3 modes. I use mode 3 which gives perfectly-dim always-on lighting and bright lighting with motion. A fourth mode giving only dim always-on lighting would have been nice. The motion detection is quite good and very wide. I really like the ball joint on the mounting arm which allows for pointing the panels in almost any needed direction: up, down and to the sides unlike most other lights. This light has worked perfectly so far. I'll be buying another one or two. If it had been a 4000-5000k panel, I would have given it 5 stars. To me, colors seem a little washed out in 9000k lighting though I don't have a direct comparison to go by. ... show more

I just got it and the same day I was able to install it outside our house. I was easy to mount to a tree in our yard to light up a path for our dogs and us, plenty of screws even a couple extras. The three settings work great for what ever one that you want to use. We choose the first setting where it is off until motions are detected by the sensor and after you walk by it turns off in about 1 minute. The light is plenty bright and spreads out into the area for a good distance. It was less inexpensive than another one I was buy before. And I like the idea that it is hardwired at both the solar pael and the light itself with a good screw together connection in the middle. ... show more

Simple enough to install, but if you happen to be using it to light inside a shed/barn it may not work for you. If the solar panel sees light, the light (if used inside) will not come on. Otherwise it provides enough light when lit.

It's a good design and nothing fancy - the LEDs are old school leftover tech from days of weaker LEDs but they do the job when you have enough in a light! If you can get one of these for $15 that's a great deal. I paid more than that but am still happy - it was missing a mounting piece, I contacted the company today and within an hour they responded. Within another hour they have stated one will be here within a week. I only wanted the part, but they are replacing the entire unit. Good customer service. I will buy more! Last time I had solar lights like this was 2008 and they were still needing improvement. These fill that gap. ... show more
