  • Tech Support Failed
Color: Gold Beige
When I first got these, they worked great. However, after six months of use, the left earbud stopped working. I went through Jabra's long tech support process to get a replacement (it took 3 weeks). The only thing they did was replace the charging case and put my malfunctioning earbuds back in the case. I checked the serial numbers on the earbuds from the pictures I took. The left earbud still needs to be fixed, and now their tech support seems nonexistent. ... show more

  • EVERYTHING JABRA ADVERTISES IS COMPLETELY 100% TRUE!
Color: Gold Beige
-Ease of app setup is incredible -Pairing is automatic -Charges fast -Easy hearing test and set automatic set up -Doesn't sound like you are in a tunnel like the cheap ones do. .Noise cancellation is good -It's the most normal sounding of any I tried. -Speech and music has excellent bass -Extremely comfortable to wear all day long. -Phone answering is spot on -App firmware is available from menu -Sounds good with headphones. -It's an FDA Certified Hearing Aid and not an ordinary amplifier. -Outstanding easy customer support -Advertised 100 day trial -Especially good for younger clients too -Looks pretty good installed but obviously buds are noticeable but fashionable. - My suggestion is to spend the money and be satisfied as other hearing devices cost $2,500-$5,000 and you may well get less. ... show more

  • Amazon's Return Policy is Odd
Color: Dark Grey
I am in the market for OTC hearing aids, and since Jabra had cut the price of these in half, I decided to try them. I am quickly learning that hearing aids vary and ones that work for one person may not work for someone else. These didn't work for me and after two days I returned them. (I'll get to the problems I had further on.). Amazon seems to treat the return of these hearing aids as suspicious occurrence, which is very un-Amazon like. Often when I return something, they refund my money to my credit card as soon as they know UPS has received it. Not this item. I dropped it off at UPS on November 11, and UPS delivered it to Amazon on November 15. Amazon then informed me that it might be December 1 before they would refund my money. I have no idea why except that several reviewers reported that Amazon DENIED them a refund, claiming that the serial numbers of the returned item didn't match the serial numbers on the sold item. How that might happen, I have no idea, but I began to worry that they might be looking for an excuse to deny me a refund. Since these cost over $500 with tax, that's not chump change. Eventually, however, on November 24, Amazon authorized a refund. That's NINE days after they received them back, and nearly two weeks after I dropped them off at UPS. My credit card company then took three days to credit the refund back to my card. So, what is going on, Amazon? I have no idea, but it does make me reluctant to buy any more OTC hearing aids from Amazon rather than the manufacturer, particularly since Amazon's prices are not any lower. As to why I returned them: they certainly amplified sound. I had no complaints with that. But I did not find that they clarified speech at all. So I was still saying "what" a lot, and asking people to repeat themselves. My biggest goal with hearing aids is speech clarification and these just didn't do it. Now, a lot audiologists will tell you that you have to wear them for awhile, and get used to them, etc. I would have been willing to try them for longer than two days except for one thing: these itched the hell out of my ears. I couldn't stand wearing them for an hour, let alone all day. Maybe others will have a different reaction, but for me, they were really uncomfortable. One of the reasons I bought these is that they were recommended by Wirecutter in The New York Times. But Wirecutter also noted that some of their test participants also complained about itchiness. So try them if you like. If you are used to earbuds, you may have a different and better experience than I did. But buy them from Amazon? Not me, unless and until, they explain why their refund on these is so slow. ... show more

  • Good enough
Color: Gold Beige
I have mild to medium hearing loss depending on the frequency of the sounds & have to turn up the sound on the TV more than a comfortable level for my wife and I have trouble following conversations in noisy environments. I chose the Jabra brand of OTC hearing aids because I've used Jabra earbuds for a few years & have been impressed by their quality, features & app. Before I go all-in for over-the-ear hearing aids I decided to try in-ear ones knowing that I will probably have to upgrade to professionally prescribed ones in a few years. The earbuds are small, light & comfortable to wear. With the app you do a frequency/volume test and the devices are tuned to your particular loss. At first common sounds like voices from the TV news sound strange because you hear frequencies you didn't hear before. On first use I thought there was something wrong with my refrigerator because I heard frequencies I didn't hear before. It takes a bit of getting used to eating with the buds in because of the amplified sounds. After using them for a while I become accustomed to the sounds & tuned them out. The app allows you to choose between Focus/Adaptive/Surround modes. For me, Adaptive works best in most situations with Focus used when at a table such as eating with a group. One thing that I don't like is that the different listening modes can only be changed on the phone app unlike Jabra for music earbuds where the modes can be changed with a tap on the earbuds. I hope a future firmware update addresses this. I've had to talk to Jabra tech support a number of times because of an alert on the app saying that there's a firmware update that needs to be done. Unfortunately the app gives me an error message every time I try to update. I was told by tech support that the error is on their end and they were working on a fix. That was 2 weeks ago & the problem persists. I expect a better response from a company like Jabra. I was undecided about keeping them right up to the last day of the Amazon return window date. The date has passed & I still have them. In conclusion these OTC hearing aids are good enough for me at this time. ... show more
