Very Loud-have to turn up TV volume to hear over it. Like a window air conditioner on high loud. Never could get the app to connect to the unit via Wi-Fi. Two hours of my life I will never get back. Not willing to put any more time into it. The actual unit works well. Really heats up that area though so I have to put fans to circulate cool air to accommodate for the extra heat load. We live on the lake on the coast 10 miles from the great dismal swamp so we have high humidity constantly. For the first time in 20 years, it feels so much better in the living space. Curious as to what my electric bill will be though. Overall, understanding the limitations of dehumidifiers in general, this particular unit appears to be a very good economy buy. If you were looking for a dehumidifier to putting your main living space, though, get a whole house, ducted unit as this portable unit makes its location, hot and loud. Again, that is just a limitation of portable dehumidifiers in general.

Other reviews say this dehumidifier doesn't work with Mesh WiFi. That's not true. I was able to connect to an Eero 6+ network. I did have to follow the steps in the Manual for manually connecting the app via "AP Mode". However, there are some missing steps that led me to chat with customer support on the Ivation website. To get to "AP Mode", you need to "Connect Manually", enter your credentials for the WiFi, and BEFORE "confirming indicator is blinking rapidly", go to the top right of the screen and change from "EZ Mode" to "AP Mode". Then you will "confirm indicator is blinking slowly". Hope this helps and you live comfortably in 30-50% relative humidity heaven!

This was purchased as a replacement for another brand unit that indicated coverage up to 1800 sq ft; however, it did not seem to do much at all. This one, so far, seems to be working very well and there is a noticeable difference in the humidity level of our basement. We're tech savvy and cannot get the wifi to connect, so the app for this seems a bit lousy; however, the purpose of the unit is to dehumidify and that's working well. I think the price is high for what it is after comparison shopping at Lowes and Home Depot.

Comes ready to use right out of the box, wheels are already attached. A little louder than my old GE unit. The Wi-Fi set up was easy enough, but I don't know if I will ever use it. This unit is heavy, so the wheels are appreciated. The disappointment for me is the bucket, no splash guard and it cannot be set down without spilling. Why wouldn't the manufacture take into account that the user may need to set the bucket down to maybe open a door when taking out the water. This is the only reason I didn't give the unit 5 stars.

I'm super impressed by this thing. I got this to replace a 70pt Frigidaire that crapped out after about 15 years. They changed their standards on how they measure the pts since then, so this 50pt can take at least as much out of the air as the old "70pt". It is a lot more quiet than my old one and anecdotally I think it collects water a lot faster. So many of the newer dehumidifiers have terrible designs in my opinion! Why are other brands putting the air intake in the back, which would normally be up against a wall??? Why would they have the drain hose coming out from the side or the front??? In my opinion those choices are kind of lacking in common sense. But this one is set up in a way that makes sense. After filling the bucket a few times I put the gravity drain hose on it to flow into a hole in my basement floor - so nice, no more emptying buckets. The only bad thing I can say is the gravity drain hose that comes with it is really short - maybe 3ft. It isn't a huge deal because you can hook up a garden hose or buy a longer hose online - in my case I just rigged something up to make it longer with a piece of hose I had in my basement. It also comes with the WiFi (2.4GHz only), which I wasn't even looking for but is a nice bonus. From the app (Android and Apple), you can monitor the temperature, humidity, and if the bucket is full; you can change the fan speed, turn it on/off, set a timer, change deg F to deg C, change the humidity in levels of 5%, update the firmware, etc.

The design of this unit is wonderful. The air is pulled from the front and not the back, which is just common sense. As soon as I fired this unit up, it began pulling moisture out of the air, and within five minutes water was draining out. The unit is fairly quiet. And the humidity reading is accurate. I have a portable humidity reader, and it is consistently matches the level of the unit. Initially, I had a very difficult time trying to pair the unit with my Wi-Fi and then I realized that my Wi-Fi was set at 5 GHz but the unit requires 2.4. I have Xfinity, so I was able to split my Wi-Fi settings in my Xfinity app to get to 2.4 GHz, and then the unit connected right up!

This is my second dehumidifier that I purchased. Same brand same model. This dehumidifier is already doing its job in the basement. The first one is still running and is in another area. I purchased it over ten years ago if not 15 years ago. Excellent Model!! One of the features is the container bucket that holds the water. Easy to maneuver out to empty. I have osteoarthritis in my hands so this is a huge option that I focused on when I bought the first one. It also has WiFi features and an automatic drain that I will set up shortly. I just jumped right in and set it up to see if it worked as well as my original one. By the way the first one it is still running after all these years. MY opinion it is one of the best dehumidifier's on the market. I was glad to see that the Company still manufactured it.

The media could not be loaded. I picked this up after my second Midea cube failed. All the features including the pump and Wi-Fi are working, but the dehumidifier constantly turns on and off even though the actual room humidity is below the set threshold. From experimentation I’ve determined that when the fan is running the reported humidity is accurate compared to Govee humidistat. When the fan is not running the reported humidity is 10 or more percentage points higher than the actual humidity. This causes the dehumidifier to cycle every few minutes. That can damage the compressor. Not to mention the device uses 600 Watts of power when running, so it’s a waste of electricity and money. Setting a higher humidity than desired is not a work around as that will result in the dehumidifier immediately turning off before the desired humidity is reached. One possible work around is to install a small USB fan near the air intake of the dehumidifier. That or placing the dehumidifier in a room with a strong constant airflow. If placed in a room with little airflow it will cycle constantly even if the room humidity is lower than what is set.

The best thing about this dehumidifier is that it pumps the water to a drain in my utility room that isn’t in the floor and has to go upward 10.” Another feature I really like is the Smart app! It allows me to see readings away from home, and I can control it from my phone. Our basement is almost 5,000 sq. ft. This unit works very well!

I paid the extra $10 to get the WIFI option so I could monitor the dehumidifier in my crawl space. But after I got the downloadable app says it must be within 10' of my WIFI router. Who has their dehumidifier that close to their WIFI router? Bottom line: Save $10 and get the model without the WIFI capability and get the 3-year warranty from Amazon. These cheap dehumidifiers only last two years anyway. It did pull down the humidity in my sealed and air-conditioned crawl space from 64% to 49% so, that is good until it breaks.

Had a hard time with this review. In purchasing the unit I required a pump, auto restart after power failure and WiFi Unit itself works well. The unit does a great job of lowering the humidity quickly and the pump works well in draining the water. After 2 hours of trying to get the WiFi to work I emailed the company and they advised that it DOESN'T WORK ON A MESH WIFI Isn’t this something that should have been noted in the description. I would not have paid the extra price for the wifi capability had I know it would not work on my system. The description must be corrected. The big question is will I return it. The unit is over 40lbs and I watched the delivery person struggle to get it up the stairs to my house. I then had to get it down to the basement. I have time to determine if it’s worth the effort to repack it, drag it up the stairs and subject the delivery person to having to carrying the unit down the front steps to the truck.
