  • Excellent Customer Service!!
Style: Sediment + Carbon
I installed my unit in 2018. Worked perfectly until last week when one of the blue casings cracked and began to leak water. I called customer support at iSpring and spoke with Sean. I explained that I knew it was way out of warranty and could he quote me the cost of a new casing. He said this should not have happened and that they would send out a new one at no charge. I was later informed that the casings had been re-designed, so they would be sending me a complete new unit to install at no charge. I have to say that I was VERY impressed that this company would stand behind their product like this! I received the new unit via Fed-Ex a few days later. Removed the old unit and installed the new one in about 1.5 hours. This is the third one of these I have installed (mine, daughter, & friend), so I have some advice about the leaking of the in and out ports on the head unit. The first unit leaked with thread tape, no matter how much I used. So, instead of using thread tape on the 1" fittings I used Locktite clear silicone waterproof sealant on the threads and let them dry for about 3 hours before putting pressure to the system. Never had a leak since in any of the units, including the new one I installed yesterday. I am completely satisfied with the installation and operation of these filters. ... show more

  • Really Does It's Job
Style: Carbon + Iron & Manganese Removal
I have a highend water softener at my house. I noticed though that sometimes my water smelled a bit. The water softener company came out and turned the back flush up from once a week, to twice a week. That didn't help much. So I started looking for an additional whole home filter that would help. I found this whole home filter on Amazon that looked like it would serve my needs. It had great reviews so I purchased it. When I got it I noticed how heavy duty it was, so all the better. I was going to install it myself, but I had a plumber coming for a plumbing issue and decided to get him to install it. Luckily it is installed in my garage right next to my softener, so it gives me easy access. I've had it for a year. I realized that it was time to change the filters. I had a bit of trouble with unscrewing the filter housing and didn't want to mess it up so I decided to contact support at iSpring. I got a support tech named Nick who assured me that removing the housing wouldn't damage it and that even if it did, iSpring could send out a replacement. So with that knowledge, I got my son to undo the housing, lol. When I got the filters out I was stunned at how dirty they were. Remember, my water goes through a water softener before going through the iSpring filter system. Now I know that it's really doing it's job, the water no longer smells and I'm exceptionally happy with my water quality. From now on though, I'm changing filters every 6 months instead of 12. I've got to say that I recommend this filter system. I also recommend iSpring. How many times have you contacted support via email from a company and never heard back from them? With iSpring, I heard back from them immediately and also received a follow-up email after I'd changed the filters to see how it was going. ... show more

  • System effectivelyt removes rust, sediment, and chemicals from city water
Style: Sediment + Carbon
Product arrived as with no issues. My contractor/plumber professionally installed this unit, tapping into my copper main line with brass fittings and blue PLEX piping. He installed a shut-off valve on both sides of the filter for easy issue resolution and maintenance. What I'm trying to say here is, it was professionally done by two plumbers. Once installed and turned on, there was a very tiny trickle on the right canister. We shut of the valves to unscrew the canister and check the rings/threads. The pressure valve was not working according to specifications. The plumber surmised that the water lines were installed backwards. The in-out lines were installed exactly according to the manual install instruction's diagram, but upon further investigation, we found an "IN" marked on the opposite side of the filter setup, so we had to reverse them. This is a pretty significant mistake on iSpring's part, because even if we had caught it prior to installation, was the misprint on the filter or the instruction manual? Okay so this cost me another $100 for additional install time, things happen. UPDATE 6 months later: Just so there is no confusion, this is not a reverse osmosis system, but a system that can be used as a pre-osmosis system. This distinction somehow confused me in my first review, which I am now correcting. Over the past 6 months, I noticed that the chemical smells, and eye stinging from the city water no longer existed. Also, I needed to clean the heavy sediment from the screens on my sink faucets, and shower heads about every 3 or 4 months. In the past 6 months, they are still clog free. This is quantifiable and physical proof that the iSpring is doing it's job. Today, I cracked open the system and replaced both cartridges; 1 charcoal, and 1 sediment. It's hard to physically determine if the carbon filter is at "end of life" by cutting it open and looking at it. The outer white wrapping was slightly yellow, but the charcoal core was perfectly in-tact, with no smells or gunk attached. The sediment filter was iron stained and had white sediment debris, which also collected at the bottom of the blue filter housing. All of this was extracted from city water. This fall, I will empty my electric water heater tank to determine how much sediment, if any, passed through the filters and collected in the tank. I would definitely purchase and install this system again ... show more
