This scooter was very easy to assemble, and took maybe 5 minutes and most of that was reading the instructions. The size of this can hold a 12 yr old, but I'd say it's probably better for 9 and under. The more weight you put on this, the slower it goes, and it moves at a snail pace for my 100lb 10yr old. With a 110lb weight limit, you'd think it would still go a reasonable speed, even if it was a gentle lull. It does not want to move hardly at all at 100lbs. My 3 yr old actually fits on this well, and I'd agree that 3 is a suitable age, but, in my case, my 3 yr old has no experience on scooters yet, so she is struggling to figure it out at all. I can control the acceleration and stopping with the remote, but the turning is all up to the driver. This is also a lean to turn scooter, so good balance is going to be needed if turning, so again, 3 is a good age, but best if the child already has the feel for a powerless scooter. The good thing is, you do not have to have the power on to ride this. It can be a regular scooter if you chose, so it could make a great beginner scooter for a toddler before choosing to use the electric aspect of it. It has a solid build, nice solid grip where the feet go, and a fair battery life. The remote is a little weird when on the scooter but I suppose it's just getting used to how it feels to accelerate and break. So far my 3 yr old is loving this, my 9yr old not so much. Again, weight makes it go slower so it's not very fun for heavier children when wanting to use the electric aspect. The lights are impossible to see on sunny days, so it's a little odd to have them since you cannot use this in rain or wet. I suppose nighttime riding they would be fun. It also refuses to move on anything that's not cement. The electric part has no real power, even with my 37lb 3 yr old, while it's not on a completely smooth surface. That is a bummer, but being it does work well on hard solid surfaces it wins points back. Certainly not perfect, but will be enjoyed.

This is absolutely perfect for younger kids who are still trying to master balance on a two wheel scooter. It doesn't go too fast and it only goes by itself if you move the lever on the controller. It doesn't have enough power to go up inclines but I'd rather that than it be too powerful and he hurt himself. He feels confident on it and every kid that sees it thinks its the coolest thing ever lol. He's just under 70lbs and it moves easily on smooth flat surfaces for him but not really uphill. I don't think the battery life is that good bc we rode about 5 blocks away and on the way back he had to kick push the whole way bc the remote had died. Apparently you can't use the built in flashlight if you want battery longevity.

Small Child Electric Scooter - $169.99 Looks good, good features. For very small kids, not big ones. Don't get too close to the weight limit or it struggles to pull the load. A very small child needs an adult to supervise so they don't lose control. Rechargeable.
