  • Pretty fast and great way to save some gas
Style: 500W,18miles
I have always wanted to get one of these electric bikes, and now that I have been using it for few days, I wish I had gotten one way before. I just went to a park when it was really hot outside and the park had a nice long road that was covered with trees and it felt really nice and cool riding this because the tree provided shade. The fully charged battery lasted my around couple of hours and I was going pretty fast too. The top speed with my weight on it was almost 7mph. And it is easy to carry since the weight is not too much and I was able to fold the handle. I never ran out of battery except for one time and I was able to use it as just a regular scooter. ... show more

  • great value and great customer service!
great value and great customer service. after a few months we had an issue with the scooter. We contacted iscooter and they promptly honored their warranty and sent us a replacement scooter. My son loves it and rides it to and from school and around the neighborhood with his friends.

  • Dangerous - Do NOT Buy
I bought this scooter to commute to work. At first, everything seemed fine. I am already a very proficient electric scooter rider as someone living in an area where the sidewalks always have rentable scooters, and I finally took the dive to buy one for myself since I use them so much. However, less than a week after usage, the clip used to hold the scooter in the "folded" position has broken in a way that would no longer allow the scooter to open. At the advice of another reviwer who had the same problem, I had to unscrew the entire latch and as she said, it stripped the screw completely and now I can no longer use it. Fine, not a big deal. Fast forward only two days later, there's a loud rattling noise whenever I am riding now. I checked and could not find the source of the rattling. This continued for about another day or two, before one day on a main road the brakes completely failed to respond, causing me to be thrown off onto the road. I'm very lucky I was wearing a helmet and was riding in the lane close to the sidewalk, but still sustained substantial injuries to my arms, legs, and feet and caused the cars behind me to swerve dangerously into the other lane. It was a terrifying experience, and why I cannot in good faith recommend this scooter to anyone. However, if you're still considering this scooter, here are my general observations about it: Pros: - Fast charging: Gets from 2 to 5 bars in a few hours. - Has two modes: "D" that caps out at 9mph and "S" that caps out at 19mph. D is great for small roads to manage your top speed while S is great for keeping up with cars on the street, and changing modes is easy with double-pressing the button on the display. - Display is easy to read: It shows you your speed, mode, headlight on/off state, and battery (5 bars total). - Has a manual bell that is decently loud. - Is easy to fold and carry, before the latch breaks on you. Neutral: - Super lightweight. It's relatively easy for me to pick up even as a 5'3" 125lbs woman. However, it does mean you have less control on the road since it's so light it will bounce much more violently over any bumps or cracks on the road. - Front light. It's there, but it's pretty weak and most importantly doesnt shed enough light on the ground in front of you to see bumps and obstacles at night (which, as previously mentioned, is significantly more dangerous on this scooter due to how lightweight it is) You may want to get an additional, more powerful light to clip onto the front. - Has a cruise mode: After you depress the accelerator for a certain amount of time, there is a long but soft beep and your scooter will be locked at the max acceleration for the mode you're going. It can be nice, but it's totally unpredictable, and I didn't even see it mentioned in the manual anywhere so it was incredibly jarring the first few times I released the accelerator to slow down and I didn't. - Pretty reactive breaks: You can brake from 19mph to 0mph pretty fast if you need to for emergencies, but it also means if you tap on the breaks even slightly to slow down, you're going to experience being jerked backwards every time you touch the breaks. It's not a dealbreaker, but certainly makes the riding experience much less comfortable. Cons: - Aforementioned issues of breakage and smajor safety liabilities that start popping up after only a few weeks of proper usage (by an experienced user!). - Very small standing space: I wear women's size 7/8 shoes and I can't fit both feet diagonally on the board, one always is half propped up on the back wheel cover. - Customer support is nonexistent. I called them multiple times to no response, and messaged with an Amazon representative that said he would reach out and they'd get back to me within 24-48 hours. That hasn't happened at all. I plan on returning the scooter directly through Amazon but very disappointed that the company didn't even have the courtesy to pick up or respond to my calls and emails. ... show more

  • Good quality, excellent support
I bought two of these for my highschool-aged boys. Setting them up was easy, and they've been in service for 6 months at the time of this review. There was one issue recently where a screw vibrated loose and a locking latch fell off. iScooter support was very responsive; they not only sent the replacement part in just a few days, but they also linked to a video showing how to install the replacement part. Very good experience. ... show more

  • Great for short range commuting, acceleration is stiff
For the price alone, I am impressed with the quality of the scooter. Nothing feels cheap or poorly made, other than maybe the throttle tab for your right thumb. It gets going pretty fast, the shock absorbers work fine but don't expect a Cadillac level of smoothness. Worth it and do not regret the purchase at all. ... show more

  • Great for commute but heavy
Style: 500W,18miles
Overall, I am thrilled to finally have an electric commute. I am excited about leaving for work and coming home each day because I get to use my new toy. However, there are a few quirks people should know about before buying. I have had this scooter for 4 days and ridden it 5 times (to work twice). I am pretty sure the battery is lead, but I can't find the information anywhere. It is much too heavy to be lithium ion (30 pounds total for the scooter, and I think over half is the 7.5 Ah battery), and the manual says to keep it fully charged and charge it as quickly as possible when it gets drained. Good advice for a lead battery, and not for a lithium battery. Conveniently, I don't drain the battery very far. My battery is still at 73% after my 5 mile round trip commute. (I weigh 120 lb, plus 10 lb backpack, flat commute both ways with a few stop signs, going 18 mph almost the whole time.) The manual says 14-17 miles for a 150 lb person going 10 mph, which is consistent with my numbers. It takes roughly 2 hours to charge back up from 73%. The top speed is 18 mph, not 19 as advertised. On the app it says 18.6, on the scooter's display it says 18. I did not do an independent check. The speed is software limited - the motor could go much faster. I can only get cruise control to work at top speed. Though this top speed is adjustable through the app, and can be quickly toggled between two user-set values with the scooter's button. According to the manual, the scooter's regenerative brakes kick in as soon as I release the throttle, and this brake is smooth and not aggressive. This is kind of nice, but mostly annoying when I just wanted to coast through a turn. The throttle is a little jumpy, hard to smoothly accelerate, which is not great for turns. But honestly it's fine and I am already getting better. There is also a hand brake like on a bike. Cruise control is released when pulling the brake or pushing the throttle. The platform is not quite big enough for two man feet, either toe to heel in length or side by side in width. It works well for me though because I like to ride with my feet diagonal to the platform anyway, and it feels the right size that way. One foot straight and one foot across or diagonal also works fine. Bigger platform than standard kids scooter. Two features are great: built in front and rear lights for night riding, and reinforced rear mudflap. The front light is quite bright and aims slightly down, so it illuminates up to about 10 ft in front of the scooter. I think I will use a headlamp to aim a bit further out. On a standard scooter, the rear mudflap is the brake, so I like that they reinforced it just in case I tried to revert back to old habits. Note that a smartphone is a must. The speed limit defaults to some lower level, and you have to install the free app to change it. There are a few other things in the app, but not much. The app lets you see the instantaneous voltage, current, and power of the battery, but I can't look at my phone while driving! So I still have no idea what power I am drawing at full speed. The app also lets you lock the scooter. Presumably only that phone can unlock it, and I don't know what happens if your phone dies. Or maybe any phone can unlock it, in which case I don't know what the point was. I don't bother with locks - my workplace is safe and I bring it inside at home. The folding mechanism is pretty slick, though I suspect it will break at some point. The kickstand is fine but doesn't make it particularly stable - my daughter accidently knocks it over constantly even though it is folded and leaning on the kickstand (it falls away from the kickstand easily). The display is easy to read (shows speed) in full sunlight. Not much suspension, but I am doing fine going top speed through some rough pavement and thick speed bumps by just bending my knees. On bumpy surfaces my glasses vibrate, which makes it very hard to see straight. Overall, works very well as a budget commuting scooter. It costs me 4 cents to recharge, vs $2 in gas for my Honda Accord going to the same place. The pricier scooters go faster, weigh less, have suspension, have more natural throttles, and have turn signals. I docked one star for the product not being honest with me about what type of battery this thing has - I'm still not sure. But it's working well. ... show more
