I'll be upfront that I was a little skeptical going in because I've been burned by budget hiking boots before. The pattern is always the same: they look great, feel okay for the first couple of outings, and then the sole starts separating or the ankle support collapses and you end up back at square one. I picked these up for a camping trip I had coming up and didn't have time to break in anything expensive, so I figured they'd at least get me through the weekend. Several months and quite a few trails later, I'm genuinely impressed with how well they've held up. The first thing I noticed was how light they are for a mid-height boot. I've worn heavier trail runners that felt more cumbersome than these do, and that lightness makes a real difference over the course of a long day on your feet. The breathable mesh upper keeps things from getting too hot and stuffy inside, which was a genuine concern for me since I tend to run warm and sweaty feet on a long hike are miserable. Even on warmer days my feet stayed reasonably comfortable and dry throughout, which is more than I can say for some boots I've paid significantly more for. The ankle support is where these really earn their keep. The padded collar sits snugly around the ankle without any digging or rubbing, and after a full day of hiking over uneven terrain I wasn't experiencing the soreness and fatigue that usually builds up around my ankles. I took these on a trail with a fair amount of loose rock and scrambling and felt genuinely stable and secure the whole way through. The reinforced toe cap has already taken a few solid hits from rocks and roots and shows no signs of damage, which matters a lot when you're moving quickly and not always watching exactly where your feet land. The outsole grip has been consistently reliable on multiple surface types. Wet rocks, muddy stretches, loose gravel, packed dirt, I've covered all of it in these boots and haven't had a single slip that I'd attribute to the footwear. The multi-directional tread pattern bites into surfaces well without feeling sticky or draggy on flat ground. The rubber is still looking solid with no signs of uneven wear after regular use, which suggests the construction quality is more than adequate for recreational hiking. The double stitching around the stress points is something I checked specifically after a couple of months of use and everything is still holding together cleanly. No fraying, no separation, nothing that gives me any concern about longevity. For the price these represent genuinely good value for anyone who hikes recreationally and wants a dependable, comfortable boot without spending a fortune. I'd buy them again without hesitation.

These boots were delivered around one week ago and I had a chance to wear them for a good amount of time. After I received these boots last week, we have seen a wide range of fluctuations in the weather; temperatures ranging from mid/high 20s (F) to 70s, a bit of snow/ice rain, and a good amount of regular rain. I love them; they are unapologetically summer weather shoes. They won't work very well in winter/cold weather but for me, what stands out is how comfortable and fun they are to wear in warmer weather (above around 60 degree F). I wore them on cold/wet days and found that my feet got very cold very soon, and even a minor splash of water went through them and made my socks wet. I have always seen boots as utility footwear, focused more on protection than comfort. The other pair of hiking boots I have is an expensive one which is water proof/resistant with a thick and hard sole and works great in all weathers, especially during rainy and winter weather. However, I have never 'looked forward' to wearing them. Another problem I have faced with boots is that I often find the the ankle area a bit loose, and therefore, most of my boots have been .5 size smaller than the regular shoes I wear; this reduces the toe space I have in the front of the shoe. These boots are airy, and very light, and make me look forward to wearing them on a warm summer/spring day. I ordered my regular size (not with .5 size reduction for boots that I generally get), and in the start I felt the shoe slipping a bit on the ankles. However, I realized very soon that because they don't have a lot of hard material (like hard leather, thick rubber that my other boot has), It is much easier to tie the laces in a way that they adhere to the contours of my feet. I now tie them a bit tightly, and they fit very snugly. I never had a boot that felt that good on my feet and that is the part that surprised me and that I love the most about these boots. The construction quality and the material looks good. The sole is stable and when laced snugly the boot provides adequate ankle support. I have wider feet and the shoe has enough toe room for them. The insoles are thin and cheap, but I use my own arch support insoles, so a boot that does not charge me for fancy insoles is a better deal. Overall, if one appreciates them for what they are, they are great boots and great value for money. With the soft material, I do see these getting nicks and tears much sooner than my other boots, but for the level of comfort they provide and how inexpensive they are compared to my other boots, I won't mind spending money for new boots every two years or so.

I bought these for my 14-year-old son, who is going on a school wilderness trip. He typically wears a size 11.5, but they only offer 11 and 12. I gambled and ordered the 12. They were too big. However, he said he really liked how they look and they were comfortable. I've ordered another pair in size 11, and I'm hoping they will fit him. The material does not seem like it would be waterproof, and really the uppers seem like breathable tennis shoe material. I can't speak to how they will hold up, but for the reasonable price, I'll be happy if they last 5 or 10 trips. I've purchased other shoes from Aomigoct, and have been really happy with them.
