I’ve built many of sheds and kits. This one was was pretty darn easy compared to them. The manual was very easy to read and understand with pictures that described exactly what to do. At first I thought the assemble manual was really thick and it was going to take forever, but the manufacturer took the time to detail everything out without cutting corners. Many have said that the film was a bear to remove, so I would agree there, I just left it on with most pieces. Shed is super sturdy and has lots of room inside without bumping your head.

Like the title says, it's a good shed for the price. You're here because you need/ want a shed but don't want to pay the price for a wooden/ resin one. So, it's not perfect. BUT, this shed is very nice after it's built. Here's our experience and why it got 4 stars: - First of all, start building this with plenty of sun left in the day. It took us about 6 HOURS. We spent a lot of time second guessing our build because of how vague and undetailed the instructions were. This is the reason it lost half a star. Half because it was still understandable. - You NEED a buddy. My wife and I built it together. And honestly, I cannot imagine it being possible alone. You would need something to hold panels up while you drill. You also need someone to read the instructions with you to make sense of some things. - The gloves they provide are good single use ones that will prevent cuts. The edges of the metal panels are sharp, I got several cuts because I find it tough to work with gloves on especially when the screws are so tiny + we worked in 90 degree weather (Fahrenheit). - We used a drill, wrench, 5ft ladder, gloves, sill gasket (for ground contact), will seal the ground openings with outdoor sealent for bugs (leaving some space for water to exit), will use 1/8th inch fencer wire for the vents inside, and plan to support it more with 2x1 pressure tested lumber + plywood inside. You CANNOT mount things on the metal walls like the photo shows. They're far too thin. We may also add some foam insulation to help regulate the temperature - metal sheds get hot in the summer and cold in the winter. - that brings us to our other half star loss: the protective film and the flimsiness. There is a plastic film on everything, I would have peeled it off if it wasn't for another reviewer mentioning not to since this is the pertective film the manufacturer speaks of. There's bubbles in some areas and it arrived with minor scratches (minor to us). You will also scratch it during the build especially if you're building on concrete like we did. Also, the packaging is really good (there's real wood to support transport), but some panels arrived slightly dented and we dented some more in the process (we stepped on a panel lol). Everything was still usable. But again, minor and you get what you pay for. - something else I'll mention so you're prepared but we decided to not remove any stars because everything worked out in the end is that it was tough to get pieces to line up perfectly with screw holes at times. I feel this is common when building things in general. You will need to pull, push, and hold things in place while you drill screws in. This is where a buddy and gloves are necessary. Some panels need to be pushed from the sharp edges. - Finally, We think it is worth the money. If you are good with your hands (nothing crazy advanced), don't mind imperfections, and want to save on a decent shed you plan to use for storage of things that can be outside, then this is for you as it is for us! Time will tell how it holds up in the Mid Atlantic climate.

Great, easy to put together. I am a small woman but I have a ton of experience assembling things. It took me 2 days. Peeling all the protective film off took the most time and was the worst part. Exactly what I was looking for. Not water proof though, I find after it rains a small amount of water comes in around the edges.

Be patient when assembling all panels. make sure you understand location for panels. Roof panels do have a overhang and trim will secure the overhang. do not try to put together by yourself and don't try on a windy day. Overall it is exactly what I needed for extra storage.

This is a crazy long review, but I wanted to give as much info as I could. I had a lot of questions about this shed and I’m sure anyone considering it does too… I had intended to assemble this shed earlier this summer, but as it sometimes happens, life got in the way… or more accurately, a family of wrens did. The spot in my yard where I planned to put the shed has a post with a birdhouse that needed to be moved about 20 feet. By the time I finished building the custom platform, a wren had moved into the birdhouse. I peeked inside and found a nest with a pile of baby birds. Obviously, I wasn’t going to disturb them! Then work got busy and I had to travel. So this project is officially on hold until mid-fall, after the wrens migrate south and my work schedule slows down. Fortunately, before my tiny feathered tenants took over that corner of the yard I was able to build a custom platform, unpack everything, lay out the components, and inspect all the parts pretty thoroughly. Even though I haven’t completed the final assembly yet, I think I can answer many of the questions I had before ordering it, and probably some of the same concerns other buyers will have. For now, the platform and shed components are securely covered under a heavy tarp. — 1) Delivery and Handling the Packages: The total weight is around 170 pounds, so I was seriously concerned this would arrive in several enormous boxes that I couldn’t handle myself. I had a mental image of some giant shipping crate being lowered into my yard by a team of people with a crane. Thankfully, that was absolutely not the case. Everything arrived flat-packed in two surprisingly manageable boxes, roughly 5’ x 2’ x 8” each. They’re definitely heavy and not something I would try to pick up and carry alone, but I had no problem moving each box by myself with a hand truck. They arrived on an ordinary UPS truck, and were unloaded by a single person in a matter of minutes. I moved them from my driveway across the grass into the backyard with moderate effort. While the total 170-pound weight sounds intimidating, actually getting this from the driveway to the building site was much easier than I expected. — 2) Durability of the Packaging During Shipping: Another concern was the potential for shipping damage. A large quantity of thin sheet metal traveling through the normal shipping system sounded like a recipe for bent panels. Again, I was pleasantly surprised. By the time everything reached my backyard the larger box only had one hole about the size of my fist, and it’s possible I did that. After inspecting I found nothing inside was damaged. There isn’t a huge amount of foam protection, but the sheet steel components are packed and stacked tightly enough that everything essentially becomes one solid mass inside the box. It actually seems to ship remarkably well considering what it is. — 3) Missing and/or Mislabeled Parts: This was probably one of my biggest concerns. There are a LOT of pieces, and I really didn’t want to get halfway through assembly only to discover some critical bracket or panel was missing. I haven’t completed assembly yet, but I did lay out and inspect each and every component. Everything appears to be present and properly labeled. I noticed a few edge pieces where the pre-drilled holes appear to be slightly misaligned. That may resolve itself once everything is positioned and squared during assembly. If not, the sheet metal is thin enough that correcting a hole shouldn’t be particularly difficult. — 4) Assembly: I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to assemble this by myself… and on this point, I was completely right. You absolutely need a helper. I recruited my teenage son, who was suspiciously happy to hear that the baby wrens had postponed our project. This is 100% a minimum two-person job. Especially when positioning and aligning the larger frame and roof components. There is a very helpful instructional video, and the basic construction isn’t particularly complicated. That said, there are a LOT of pieces and steps. Seeing everything spread across the yard is initially pretty intimidating. My advice is not to overthink it. At the end of the day, it’s a pile of sheet metal, framing, and fasteners. Take your time, follow the instructions, keep everything organized, and work through it one section at a time. I’m expecting this to take the two of us most of a weekend. Time consuming? Absolutely. Impossible for a reasonably handy person? Not at all. — Actual Drawbacks The biggest drawback is quite obviously the amount of labor involved. Just unpacking, sorting, inspecting, and laying out all the components took me around three hours. This is definitely not an “assemble it Saturday morning and fill it Saturday afternoon” type of project. At least not for me. I also would NOT recommend installing this directly on grass. In my opinion, a solid wood platform or concrete base is basically a necessity. Both for stability and for properly anchoring the structure. Once assembled, an 8.2’ x 10’ shed wall presents a lot of surface area to the wind. It needs to be securely anchored to something substantial. I would not trust the weight of the shed itself to keep it planted during a strong storm. If not secured to a base, I could easily see this becoming a wind-sail and flying away during a storm. The sheet metal is also quite thin. For the price, I don’t necessarily consider that unreasonable, but buyers should understand what they’re getting. This isn’t a heavy duty steel building. It’s a lightweight sheet-metal shell supported by a thin frame. Smacking an interior wall with a lawnmower, snowblower, or other heavy equipment will certainly leave a dent. Properly assembled, anchored, and treated reasonably, however, I see no reason it shouldn’t do its primary job of protecting outdoor equipment from the elements for many years. My biggest complaint so far is actually the included fasteners. The primary bolts used to join many of the wall components look undersized to me, and there are roughly 300,000,000 of them that require nuts on the opposite side. That means someone has to hold the nut while the other person tightens the bolt, over and over and over again. I understand the design, but I’m not impressed with the hardware. Plus it adds a tremendous amount of unnecessary assembly time. I decided to replace many of those fasteners with appropriately sized self-drilling Tek screws. They’re more substantial, don’t require someone holding a nut on the opposite side, and should make assembling many of the wall sections dramatically faster. They also have the advantage of cutting their own hole if one of the factory holes is slightly misaligned. Obviously, that’s my own modification rather than the manufacturer’s assembly method. Anyone doing the same should choose suitable exterior rated fasteners and use some judgment about where they’re appropriate. — Final Opinion So far, I think this is a really good value for what you’re getting. The catch is that the low purchase price comes with a significant investment of your own time and labor. You’re getting a large 8.2’ x 10’ outdoor shed for around $400, maybe less if it’s on sale. Include a custom base and you’re still under $600. That’s a lot of enclosed storage space for the money. The tradeoff is thin sheet metal, mediocre included fasteners, an overwhelming number of individual pieces, and a substantial assembly project. However this will be a nice weatherproof shed with a lot of space. My recommendation is to budget a little extra money for better fasteners, build or pour a solid and level base, have a capable helper available, and set aside an entire weekend rather than trying to rush through it. If you’re willing to do all of that, you can end up with a large, useful outdoor shed for under $600. That’s a fantastic deal!
