This light fixture is very bright!! I installed it in my kitchen which previously had one of those old ballast lights which was never very bright at all. Somehow this light is brighter then the 4 bulbs that were in that ballast light. I even had to turn it down to the 4000K setting because it was to bright and white for me. The gold color is a realistic gold, not a fake tacky looking gold so it will go with many different decors and styles. Installation was very easy with multiple options for install. There were two separate sets of holes for installing on different size junction boxes as well as an option to install the light with the included drywall anchors and screws. So even if you might not have a standard situation for install this light fixture will still work for you. The only downside I can find is that the fixture does make a shadow band around the top of my kitchen by my ceiling because of the metal sides. This is to be expected and not really avoidable with the style of light. Most people would probably find this normal, I only noticed it because the previous old light ballast had no sides at all. My kitchen also only has one ceiling light. If you have multiple lights, area or can lights as well you shouldnt have a problem. This light went up very quickly. The light is decently bright for a small or medium sized room. For my large kitchen it was not enough light, but moved to another smaller room it was perfect. Installation is very easy due to the fixture's light weight. The size of the fixture is purely an aesthetic choice, the actual lighting components consist of a small circuit board with a bunch of LEDs on it. We used a bunch of similar thinner lights for our bedrooms and thought using this more substantial light in the hallway would be a nice compliment to the bedroom fixtures. The white light temperature is adjustable and the fixture is bright. But it doesn't have a very wide throw pattern since the sides are opaque. Easy install and you never need to change a bulb, but you can change the temperature of the light. This was an easy choice for my laundry, it is bright and being able to choose the color of the light is a plus. I like different lighting in work areas and I've got what I want.
