  • Simple Solution to Install a Doorway Bar
Style: Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar
I use the Iron Gym bar to hang to improve a shoulder impingement. Really clever design. Easy to install, no drilling needed & very sturdy. Saw that some reviews mentioned the possibility of damaging the door frame, so I put folded cloth under the bearing points which works great. Use padded gloves to protect my hands, which also helps protect the padding on the bar. This is a great product. Keep in mind that if used for hanging, the bar may not be high enough to allow full body weight and only partial weight hanging. ... show more

  • Solidly built and sturdy, easy to put away
Style: Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar
Love it! I love how it just hangs atop the door and uses your weight leverage to hold it in place so we can put it away when done. Very solidly built and you can adjust grip width so feel confident in training on it.

  • My husband loves it
Style: Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar
My husband loves using this when he works out. Easy and convenient to use and to place on the door trim wall. However it did create small black marks from the color rubbing on the wall. It is pretty annoying to see the mark on the wall on top of the door. I'm sure a lot of the same equipments are same. I decided to give this a 5 star rating because my husband really likes to use it and still have it, and he has no issues using it. ... show more

Fast delivery. Easy to install. Took me at least 35 mins to put together and figure out how screws were hard supposed to screw in. Instructions wasn’t straightforward, alignment was off. Other than that, grip is sturdy. Padding is soft. Easy storage capacity. No damage to door frame.

  • Worth every penny to no end.
Style: Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar
Pro: Cheap price: For $22, you get way more than what you paid for. Easy assembly: The assembly instruction in the manual is very lacking, but the assembly itself is as easy as it gets. There are four screws, two short and two long ones. Short ones go on the top part and long ones go to the bottom part. Tighten them up and the assembly is finished. The whole process can be finished within 10 minutes, assuming you are not doing facebook, texting, and/or watching TV at same time. Durability: The pull-up bar is as durable a $22 product gets, if not more. The real problem is whether your door frame can handle the bar and your weight. Keep the receipt and the shipping box in case your door frame does not like the pull-up bar. Easy installation: The installation is quick and easy. Insert a pin into your door frame for extra support and place your assembled pull-up bar onto the door frame. Done. That's it for the installation. Wasn't that easy? Quick and easy installation is probably the pull-up bar's biggest selling point. All you need to install it is a door frame, and most people have a door in their home and a door frame with it. If your door frame is in the range of 1-2 inches, I believe your door frame is suitable, but I'm not making any guarantees. At least my door frame is in that range, and the pull-up bar is serving me very well. Con: Compatibility: The biggest con that will turn you away from this product will be the compatibility. A quite a number of people commented the pull-up bar was not compatible with their door frame. Although they are minority, it is enough to get you uncomfortable with the purchase, and you should be since you might be the unlucky one. The maker of the product did not specify what sort of condition a door frame has to be to support the pull-up bar, a very sloppy job in describing their product. Keep your receipt and shipping box handy in case the pull-up bar proves to be worthless. If you need a reference, my door frame is 1-2 inch think and not what I would call "very sturdy". If your door frame is 1-2 inch thick and firmly installed, I believe your door frame is ready to go, but I'm not making any guarantees. Compact: It sits on the top of a door frame. Thus, it takes very little space. Not for tall people: My height is 5'5", rather short and I can get a good hold of installed pull-up bar just by raising my arms. In other word, the pull-up bar is not installed very high. Since it is installed by resting on top of a door frame, the height of the pull-bar can't be adjusted either. Tall people would be touching ground with their feet every time they go down durable their pull up, which can be very uncomfortable, unless they hold their legs up during their pull-up, which can be very awkward. But then again, only full blown pull-up bars will provide pleasant experience to tall people and those cost a fortune, and they take up quite a bit of space as well. So you have to pick your poison. Will it be affordable, but uncomfortable one or comfortable, but expensive one? Other thoughts: I think it's ironic that compatibility is the biggest fault when easy installation is the biggest selling point. Credibility of the review: NOT VERY MUCH. I had the pull-up bar for only couple of days and wrote this review because I thought it deserved some attention. But as I believe a good review is based off at least 1 month of extensive use and 1 year of daily use, I myself don't consider this review as a through and extensive review. Use this review only as a reference and take everything with a grain of salt. ... show more

  • This is a good, sturdy product and a good value for the money.
Style: Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar
I like this product. I am a female senior with a lot of low back pain due to arthritis, disk degeneration, etc. It is hanging from my door frame and I can hang on it. (I weigh 122 pounds.) It stretches my spine and feels good. It is quite sturdy. I think it would hold much more weight. I think the door frame would come down before the Iron Gym pull up bar would break. It is also a good value for the money. ... show more

  • Terrible
Style: Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar
I think we got one which the person who wrote the review below returned, but didn't realize until today since my 15 year old son thought that it's his fault and threw it in his closet.... ------- "There are rejects in every production line, and mine is one of those. I think, judging from extra tape on the box, that they sent me a returned item; in "new" condition, so, OK I'm not going to quibble. But nearing completion of the assembly, I found that the drill holes through the two halves of the bar do not align, one half to the other, making it impossible to assemble. If I'm right that it was a returned item, that is why it was returned. It's a reject the manufacturer should have detected. I noticed another review said basically the same thing about misalignment on assembly, and I may have the one he returned! (Or the manufacturer shipped out an entire defective batch.) Detail: The bar comes in two pieces, with an alignment notch, so you can't rotate one half within the other, i.e. there's only one way to fit them together. Old school engineering dating back decades, and in this instance, I don;t see why it's necessary. When fitted together, one bolt points straight up, as it should be, but the other points about forty degrees off-vertical, so you can't attach the assembled bar to the two curved pieces. Once, long ago, I recall a similar problem, but the discrepancy in alignment was only a millimeter or so, and I forced it. This misalignment is almost a centimeter and can't be forced. Either the alignment "bump" inside the larger diameter half has to be filed down, or it has to be drilled out, to allow the two halves to rotate. Overall, a disappointment with the ungainly design, and with myself for not inspecting more carefully before buying." ... show more
