Terrible heater. Very poor design. Double read the product description. Motion detection is a joke. Cannot disable the auto-off function. So, you'll wake up freezing. NO thermostat or ability to set target temp - BUT has a thermometer? Make it make sense. I'm using this space heater in my office, but I've also tested it in my living room. In the living room, since it's an open floor plan, my fire place only emits heat towards the immediate surrounding (living room). The kitchen and dining room really gets no heat. I have this unit in the corner facing the dining room/kitchen and oscillate it towards those spaces. I thought it really heated up the space much faster than using the fireplace alone. It raised the rain temperature by 2 degrees in about 5-8 mins and maintained it (presumably, the space is too big for the unit). Therefore, this would be best used near where we sit in the room. I took the up to the office. It's a 12x12 room. I shut the door and the room warmed up relatively quickly. I run it for 30 minutes each time and shut it off for a couple of hours and I felt warm and comfortable while I studied. I liked having the fan and heating option within the same unit. However, I couldn't really notice any drastic difference between medium and turbo. The motion sensor may be set to auto-shut off after 90 sec., 5 mins., or 10 mins. But I would've much rather set the time frame myself instead of using these presets. I would've liked the option to set a timer to turn it on/off. I played around with the motion sensor distance, and I'd literally have to be about 3-5 ft in front of it to trigger it. This means that the placement of the unit is important so I know when to reactivate it if it shuts off (other than using the remote. Some improvements could be made to the unit. Although I really like the small holder on the back of the unit to store the remote, I would appreciate the function panel to be on the front. The remote works better even I am right in front of the unit. The remote doesn't include all the functions on the unit. I can't set the temperature like my other unit where it shuts off after the room reaches the temperature. The motion sensor doesn't work when it is under 'oscillating' mode. Personally, it served the purpose, but I would've liked the ability to customize some of the options considering this unit is more expensive than my other unit with more 'bells and whistles.' Come to think of it... this is not a bad unit, it works well, i just preferred my other unit and may swap them out instead... ... show more
