Edited: I received excellent customer service from this seller. After sharing my concerns about the accuracy, they replaced the thermometer and this new one works great. Seems fast and accurate. Original review: My dog is going through cancer treatment, so I need to have a reliable thermometer to monitor that she doesn't get an infection while her white blood cells are decreased. As soon as this arrived, I read the included instructions and tried testing it in heated water against two other thermometers I had on-hand (one being a kitchen thermometer, and the other being a human thermometer). This pet thermometer was about 2 degrees F less than the other two, making it unreliable for my needs. I repeated the test about 4 times over the course of an hour, and the results were always off.

Received quickly with Prime as we had concern that the pup may have been running a fever. Also ordered protective sleeves (I still washed after use). The temp measurement was fast and the pup did not mind; he may have not even noticed what was going on while laying down on his side and receiving pets. Thankfully, his temperature was in healthy range.

I love the color. Yellow means warning to me so hopefully my family will not use this one. I demonstrated the difference between white and yellow and I think this one will be successful. I cannot ask them, but they seem to not be bothered by it, although they are cats so you either get “BOTHERED!!!” Or meh… so apparently this thermometer is a “meh.” One cat sniffed it once and the other cat apparently couldn’t see it. On the other hand, it works as intended from human standpoint. When I need to take a cat temperature, I turn this on and it does all butt insert it for me. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! …and not like in the George W. Bush way…
