It's not durable and the motor isn't strong In other words this is a weak piece of blankity blank! I'd rather have my gas auger even if it weighed 3 times as much. $699? It should cost $99. I can't imagine anyone who's written a review has used their plastic bladed, under-powered motor Alpha Plus for very long. Other's may have better luck than I, but I'm not going to spend another $700 for an auger. ... show more

I was amazed at how quickly and easily I was able to cut holes in the ice. My last auger was 8” and the 10” upgrade is worth every penny! Well made and designed. With my forward facing sonar unit, drilling a lot of holes is crucial to get on the fish. I have no worries that this unit will go for days! ... show more

    • 3 consecutive days on the ice (7-9" of ice) WITHOUT charging - AWESOME!
I used a single battery for 3 consecutive days on the ice without recharging. I did get the additional battery, just in case. It punches through 8" of ice in about 6-7 seconds. The auger bit can be changed between the 10" and 8" too, I called ION and asked. I am so glad I went with the 10" and not the 8". ... show more
