Description

Built off the success of the 1st generation Ares BTR, the Gen II is still a top-tier riflescope, without the price tag. The Ares Gen II acquires a new stainless steel turret design, just like the Midas TAC and Ares ETR lines. The new turret design features sharper, more tactile clicks. Still featuring HD glass, a new optical system provides an even brighter and clearer image throughout the magnification range. A one-piece, precision machined aircraft- grade aluminum 6061-T6 aluminum scope body, precision zero stop, and impeccable tracking will deliver precise, accurate results in any field.

  • Surprised by the amazing quality
Style: APRS5 FFP IR MIL
one of the lighter weights in it's class ... 1. FAST NON-LOCKING TURRETS 2. GREAT ILLUMINATION, GREAT CENTER DOT, DOESN'T BLOCK THE TARGET. 3. GREAT EYE RELIEF AND EYE-BOX 4. GREAT GLASS, BETTER CLARITY THAN ATHLON SPOTTING SCOPES IN THE SAME PRICE LEVEL CONS.. ONLY SCOPE IN THE BOX? NO CAPS, NO COVERS, NO QUICK LEVER, NO RINGS .. WORKS GREAT WITH $15 MONSTRUM RINGS ON A PRS TRAINER. ... show more

  • Pretty nice scope for $600. First one was defective.
Style: APRS5 FFP IR MIL
Edit: I reurned the scope and my money was refunded in 2 - 3 weeks. The second scope I ordered is very nice. End. The elevation turrent was binding about halfway through the upper range. It was super light below that to the point that it was hard not to skip clicks. This scope MSRP is almost $1100. That should not happen. Ok some bad scopes probably slip through. If they would have shipped me a replacement right away that would be OK. That is not what happened. Amazon's listing says free return or REPLACEMENT within 30 days. I've had it for 2 days. After a hour with 2 different c.s. agents they absolutely would not send a replacement only saying that I could return and repurchase. Athlon can take up to 30 days to refund my money so I just wanted a non defective replacement. But they woul not budge. I believe Athlon is the seller so it's probably their policy. I returned it and ordered another. I will update my review when it comes in AND I receive my refund. Scope is new and never mounted.I have a Cronus BTR also I have yet to review but the turrents are nice on that scope. ... show more

  • This is a really nice scope

Amazing imaging, turrets clicks are precise and calibrated perfectly. All controls are well done for that matter. Love the zero stop and it was super easy to set. I highly recommend.

  • Beware of service!
Style: APLR4 FFP IR MOA
Returned for warranty. Returned back to me stating it was within their company spec's. This scopes screw on zoom ring had damage where it had been removed. What looked to me like more than once. I bought this as a new scope. Explaining this to Athlon in my email and descriptions. Athlon did not address this issue period. Just stating scope was within spec's. I contacted Amazon but was told to late. Not good business by either. I own 2 Athlon scopes, but when time comes to spend 1000 dollars or more for a scope, I will not be able to use Amazon or Athlon because of this past experience. I use Amazon for smaller purchases, but really should cut them completely. Thinking this is my best option and letting others know what they can expect from these two companies. 1000 dollars is nothing to sneeze at. Not to mention the other Athlon scope and money I and my wife spend on Amazon monthly. ... show more
