This thing works awesome, you don't have to push down, it chews itself into the ice and doesn't catch at the bottom of the hole. Light weight to carry and I can drill lots of holes on a battery. Not cheap, but worth it.

Cuts ice like butter, no problems yet and one battery is more than enough. It's lite weight but there is lots of plastic so I'm not sure about durability yet. I cut 12 - 14 holes in 18 inches of ice with it only taking seconds for each and the battery level did not move

Always used gas augers for30 years, was very skeptical about a battery operated auger. Bought it for a girl friend because of the light weight and no more gas and oil mixing. First time out ice fishing drlled 30 holes faster than any gas auger i ever used. Battery was still fully charged also after drilling these holes. No did not meet my expectations. To be clear, i have used Ions before to drill holes, friends of mine have them, they are great products. Unfortunately this one was not. Dead out of the box, on a fully charged battery. I returned it for a refund. It was sold as new, but the box appeared to have been opened and re-taped. So maybe someone else had that same prob, returned, and it was not tested. I still plan to buy one of these, but will buy local this time in case there are issues. ... show more

This machine is absolutely awesome. It drills lots of holes on a single charge, is easy to handle and operate. best feature is you keep the drill in the hole and run it in reverse and it blows all the ice shavings under the ice leaving a clean hole

Bought this auger 11 months ago and have had an overall positive experience so far. It’s lite, drills through 24” ice without bogging down and has excellent battery life. The only issue I have is with the on-off trigger. At times it doesn’t work and needs to be jiggled around and I know it’s going to fail at the worst time. ... show more
