I loved this shelter. I don't go ice fishing every weekend in the winter, I usually take 1 big trip up north, and my group of 4 have been shoving ourselves into a smaller 4 person tent for the last few years. This past trip I decided to look at affordable, larger, shelters so we had a bit more room. There's a lot of options in this arena and I settled on this unit because it seemed to have a lot of positive reviews and had a lot of features for the price. It comes in a pretty larger carry case and it folds up after use to fit back in the case. So that was nice. It's pretty heavy, lugging it around on the straps was doable but I wouldn't expect to do that over any long distances. Much easier to transport on a sled or vehicle. Inside it's HUGE. We could easily fit 4 people on one side of the tent and have a whole line of holes on the other side. Worked out extremely well for our part of 4. The windows are great, vents are great, has two doors on opposite corners; which was awesome when we were all inside so you didn't have to step over lines. The material is somewhat thick. It's not insulated and it's not basic tent material. It's like a thick canvas (but not canvas). We did get a bit of snow while we were there and it held up fine. Wow, we got this as an afterthought to take to an endurance race where weather was expected to be around 30f all weekend. We knew we would be out in the cold for 9 hours a day and wanted a place to get in and keep warm as much as possible while not leaving trackside. Many were skeptical but as soon as this thing went up and the first person hopped in, it was true love. This is sturdy, well made and stood up to decent wind gusts with no problem. Even when it was around 20f, having a few people inside made a huge difference in the temp. Between body heat and a little sun, the tent warmed up at least 15f and once we added a tiny heater it stayed over 50f easily and was comfortable enough that people and electronics functioned flawlessly with near zero suffering. The size was also a huge surprise. Its big enough to have 5-6 in it without being in each others laps and small enough that it can go up about anywhere and not be intrusive. Its a very efficient design and uses space very well while setting up and tearing down in just a few moments. We are looking forward to trying this in the summer as well. The double walls and good light blocking should protect the inside pretty well and adding one of those little indoor AC units with a hose vent should allow one of these to stay chilly cool and just as cozy in the hot summer sun as it keeps warm in the frigid cold. This ice shack is easy to put up and take down and only requires a few minutes. It works best being set up with two people especially when it's windy. It has two vents, one on each end of the shack about 4x4 in size. Two doors on opposite corners. 6 windows that have a Velcro cover and the windows themselves Velcro into place. There are 6 grommets for the T hooks to screw into the ice. I would highly recommend getting separate washers so you don't damage the grommets or break them. It comes with only 4 tie downs which do work great, however 6 tie downs for windy days would be wonderful. It also comes with 12 T anchors. I would HIGHLY recommend getting the drill attachment, it makes the process for screwing the T hooks in a lot easier. There are some small pinholes around the stitching throughout the tent but this is to be expected and easily fixable with some rubber paint or black glue. It definitely works as a great shack to get out of the wind and remains relatively heated if you have a buddy heater or a small stove in it. Plenty of room for your gear and 4 people with chairs. In the past I sporadically ice fished, but without a shelter. After buying this shelter, I added 3 months of ENJOYABLE fishing to my year! I researched many ice shelters and am pleased that this one met the great value I hoped it to be. Very well made with two reliable entrance zippers, several clear windows, and even some ventilation screens that I just discovered on my last outing. I've never sat in an insulated shelter, and while this one is not insulated, with a 15,000 BTU propane heater inside, I shed my coat. 10 - 12 (?) sturdy anchors are included as well as anchor strings which I learned this week in windy conditions are needed to prevent the wind side from collapsing in. 6 anchors plus 2 anchors to hold the anchor strings (did not use all anchor strings) held up to 20+ MPH winds this past week (but setting it up in the wind took some planning and extra bodies to keep it from flying away!). Unless you always fish alone, I would recommend the 6 man instead of 3 man shelter as the extra space is very nice and allows for more holes within the shelter. Enjoy! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was blown away by the ease it took to build this tent. It took me 5 minutes. So simple and very sturdy. Simply take out of the bag , throw on the ground and pop out the roof , walls and ends. It’s just as easy to take down and pack away. It is blacked out inside for ultimate darkness if needed. All windows are velcro and can be removed if more airflow is needed. You can use this tent for many different things. Great value for the money.
