  • Dog really responds!
Color: Black
My dog has entered the most crucial period for training, she is a year old. She is a large breed dog , and I am a very small woman. I use this for off leash training, here in my own yard, in an area that used to be rural but is rapidly changing. I haven't had to use anything but the beep and vibrate mode, the beep just refocuses her attention to me, while she finds the vibration mode very annoying. Most of my training is done the old fashioned way. Consistency and hands on. The following is an example of when more was needed. My young nephew lives here and bought a small motorcycle, which of course my dog sized puppy loves to chase. We were outside playing fetch ( with the chuck it ball thrower I also highly recommend), when my nephew takes off on his motorcycle much to my surprise. She ran after him, but after 3 short bursts on vibrate, she was immediately back by my side ready to play ball again. Another problem I have had is her excitement when people walk in my house. For which I use the beep to get her attention first, then vibrate if that doesn't do the trick. An e-collar is not a magic pill, it wont do your job for you, but it certainly helps with off leash training, and refocusing my dogs attention back to me, her owner and trainer. The dog I train her to be in the next six months to a year is the dog I will have forever. I believe dogs need to run off some energy every day, especially my dog who is a Goldmaraner, well documented for their need to run everyday. Off leash they also learn to think for themselves , and satisfy their curiosity which makes for a more intelligent dog in the long run, in my opinion, I have had many dogs over the years. The battery life of the collar and the hand held remote has been great so far, still seems to be charged after a whole days use, I put it on the charger anyway, but have had no trouble with that. I also am very happy with the collar this unit comes with, and the device on it, it stays on the collar, no falling off or twisting like my last e collar, which I threw in the trash due to this problem, ( this was with my previous large breed dog) The basic design is quite solid, the collar threads through slots on the back of the device that vibrates, making it impossible to lose. The manufacturer sent me a charging block, when I wrote and told her I didn't have one, and a lanyard that really works great ,so I have my hands free, just for my trouble. I highly suggest you buy a lanyard, I nearly lost the remote before I put the lanyard on it, when it fell out of my pocket. (the way you attach the little loop is through the two holes on the corner of the remote ) Thank you Invirox! Great cost, and a great product! I waited months to review this because I wanted hands on experience first. Now I give it 5 stars! ... show more

  • After two years, I love it so much I'm buying a spare... After two years, I love it so much I'm buying a spare...
Color: Black
Have owned many dogs, this was my first electronic collar. Bought this 2+ years ago and recently decided to get a backup before they are gone. After 2 years this product still works great. The collar has gone swimming in the river, suffered through baths, and been out in the rain. Collar and remote both hold a charge forever--I've only had to charge it a handful of times since purchase. The flashlight is super handy in a pinch. Being a first time e-collar owner, I had a few gripes when I first got this collar, but I've since learned that the design is really ahead of me. The "lock" switch can be pretty stubborn, but then again you don't want it getting flipped accidentally, so that makes great sense. I inadvertently shocked my buddy early on and quickly blamed the size of the "zap" button... and then I had a situation where I had to find that button FAST, and was so thankful that it was oversized so I could identify it by feel alone. The remote and collar are lightweight and the remote is narrow enough to slide perfectly into a slim pocket in the leg of my cargo pants. I can work without it getting in the way or in fear that it gets bumped by accident. The tapered shape of the remote and slick design ensure that it slides right into place (I leave the lanyard hanging out and can snatch it up in a second). My buddy is a 90 lb. Old English Bulldogge whose learning disability, giant size, and aggressive style of play can be alarming to the uninitiated and flat out terrifying to dogophobes. I live in a residential area with lots of elderly street walkers--this guy could break someone's hip just taking a run at them, so I consider this collar a critical component for reducing liability. And boy does it work! Testing it on myself showed me that I never needed to zap him for more than just a second. I followed the manual and we eventually found our own groove with it. He knows the code now--I get his attention with the tone, and he knows I mean business when I vibrate it... because the next step is the zap. A long press on vibrate and he comes running. I bet in two years I haven't zapped him a dozen times. That said, my wife pops him accidentally so often she's not allowed to carry the remote anymore. So I guess the product isn't for everyone. I suppose I should mention I got the collar when he was about six months old, so he kind of grew up with it. Not sure how an older/more seasoned dog would respond to it. I have a few friends with bully rescues that didn't take to kindly to their ecollars (which weren't Invirox btw). As a matter of fact everyone I know who has an ecollar has abandoned it for one reason or another, but none of them had an Invirox! Oh and also they claim an 1,100 yd range, which I don't get. It's not that big a deal though because I can't go 1,100 yards without a tree or hill/valley anyway that would interrupt the signal. I get 150-200 yd range easily, and I almost never let him get that far away from me. I love it so much I'm buying another one when the first one isn't even broken (bonus, it's substantially cheaper this time!). I hope this helps you make your decision! ps - not sure if the product description mentions this, but my first one came with two sets of studs for the collar (a long set and short set), and a set of rubber nubs to go over them. I started with the short studs with the rubber covers and have gone to long studs, no covers. That seems to work best with his flappy neck folds. ... show more

  • Great product at a great price point!
Color: Black
So i was a bit skeptical because of the price point and comparing this to other high priced training collars. But let me tell you i got this today and it has already made a world of difference. I have two bulldogs, one of which can be very very stubborn when we go outside. She wants to not come when called and just completely ignore me. I put this collar on and have only had to use the vibration mode on a very low level and now she brings her chunky butt right away when being called. Im serious, great product, my dog weighs atleast 70 lbs and shes a big bulldog with alot of neck fat. And im using this on very low level under 10 and only on vibrate mode. I give her a beep first for warning and then a vibrate after she does not listen and it works great. ... show more

  • Electronically its the same as all other under $100 eCollars, but...
Color: Spark K9
Most folks will agree it's important to get a solid recall from a field dog. It's one thing to get a reliable recall in a training facility or a fenced in meadow with few distractions. It doesn't take long to realize that recalls in the woods or around water are a different matter because of distractions -- geese, squirrels, rabbits, deer, what have you. It takes only moments for my 70 pound Doberman to go deaf charging after who knows what in the in the brush. So my training goal is to convince him the break off his charge on command. A daunting task. Yet that's precisely where an electric collar is useful to get your dog's attention. So the reliable range of this electronic training collar is important. Towards this end my wife and I set about mapping the area in which this particular collar would be effective. What we discovered is that in wooded terrain this collar had a roughly 200 yard effective range. If the terrain was rough, like the steep banks around a creek, the dog can easily be where the signal does not reach. So our rule with electronic collars is "if you can't see your dog don't expect your signal to reach more than 200 yards" regardless of the manufacturer's claims. The reason is simple. In the United States at the moment (May 2025) shock collars and transmitters operate on four bands – 26.995, 27.045, 27.095, 27.145, or 27.195 MHz. In this range the US Federal Communications Commission limits the transmitter output to 30 microvolts at 30 meters (if you want to go into the electronic weeds see FCC OET BULLETIN NO. 63). Go over that power and stiff fines await the manufacturer. So, every electronic dog collar manufacturer is limited to exactly the same maximum power. That means it's unlikely that there's much difference in the range of one electronic collar or another. Yes, longer antennas can help as can holding the transmitter high. But we're talking nuance here. So why does this eCollar cost nearly twice as much as some other collars? It's probably because of nicer cases, longer antennas and features like multiple collars (that I never use), stainless or rare metal plated electrodes and automatic beep before shock. But in the field, the all important matter of range for all eCollars is still subject to the identical power limitation. What I do like about this particular eCollar are its simple controls, the neck strap for the transmitter, and that it arrived already paired. I think it can be used with gloves (yea! for winter use). The range is no worse than other under $100 eCollars. And because pairing in the field can be a PITA, it's nice to know the device went from the manufacturer to me *without losing its pairing.* ... show more

  • Amazing price and even better results Amazing price and even better results
Color: Gray
Our old shock collar stopped working and I wasn’t impressed with it. Found this for a great price and the reviews sold me. Real life buyer here, I love it. Our Boerboel responds way better to this collar than our old one. I don’t know why, but we’re thrilled. This collar has a beep, vibrate and shock. We often only need to use the beep and he listens. Our old collar only had shock and it sucked only having that option. One of the things we love most is how long it holds a charge. I’ve been using it for a week and haven’t had to charge it. So convenient not having to take it on and off often just to charge it. We can already see a difference in our dogs behaviors using this collar, 10/10. ... show more

  • Poor range
Color: Spark K9
UPDATE (2025-04-20): I have owned this e-collar for quite some time now, over 1.5 years, and I can't recommend it at all. The range is entirely overstated unless maybe you're out with your dog in the flat parts of the Mojave. Previously, I had been using the collar in a relatively flat area in California with an area of about 1600 acres. I was able to stop my dog dead in her tracks within about 50 feet. Now I'm in a slightly hilly and partly forested part of Texas and...yeah, there is no way this thing can reach even 100ft at times with the signal being easily blocked by just a small stand of trees. I've decided to switch to something far more robust because my dog is a pretty big investment already. Please note that the capabilities of this device, at its price point, is probably what you'll get out of other devices at this price point and something much better will take you to $1k if you need something that doesn't require mobile service. There are a couple of behaviors I've been working on deprogramming from my cow dog (Texas Heeler). The first is leash aggression and the second is running after wildlife when out on trails. This electronic collar has worked wonders on correct the second behavior and now my off-leash dog will instantly stop in her tracks when I call out "Leave it" as soon as a rabbit, deer, coyote, squirrel appears on the trails and farm fields we walk through on a daily basis. As for correcting the leash aggression part...well, that's a work in progress. Things that I like about this collar is that the receiver has a blinking green light and you can have it shine as a white light by clicking a button on the remote. I haven't tested the range claims but so far it works for us. I like the compactness of the remote. Battery life has been amazing but then I remove the collar and turn it and the remote off at the end of those long walks (2 hour walks for reference). The display is bright and clear and easily read night or day (there is a backlight that automatically turns off after a few seconds). My dog has a short coat but the hair is pretty long around the neck area and she has an undercoat. Still, I prefer to use the regular adjustable collar with the receiver as the plastic one with the adjustable mechanism on it seems kinda flimsy....and what are you supposed to do with the extra cord that dangles after tightening?? Things I don't like about this collar; - The remote is super slippery. If it's cold out and you're wearing gloves: good luck. - When enabling the white light on the receiver the light should just stay on until you turn it off. Instead, you have to hold down on the button so the light stays on. - Because of the way that the blinking light works on the collar, and the fact that the white light turns off immediately, I wouldn't count on this functionality to use at night to locate your dog. Seems like a missed opportunity. I guess she'll be wearing THREE collars at night: regular collar, electronic collar, and light up collar. SMH. - The flashlight feature on the remote I guess is convenient, but kinda dim. I just use my phone or an actual flashlight which is way brighter for navigating in the dark. - The BLACK (!) silicone covers discolor my dog's fur around her neck (her fur is bright white, it's clearly turning grayish/black from these covers). They covers really should be clear silicone. This should have been obvious. - The weight of the receiver will end up turning the entire collar gradually so that the receiver is no longer on the side but migrates to the front. That's what you get with the walking, running, etc. You can only make the collar so tight before you're dog can't breath comfortably....believe me, this isn't a tightness issue, it's a gravity issue. - It would be nice to see on the remote what the charge state is of the receiver. I've only seen one or two competitive devices that offer this feature. The receiver itself has no way of indicating it's state of charge until it needs to be charged?? - When you turn the receiver on it vibrates; when you turn the receiver off it makes an annoyingly loud beep. Like really really loud. Plenty of room for small improvements. Finally, the first day I used this I dropped it on the trail (a dirt trail) and the screen suffered a tiny bit of damage so that it now has one little dark spot off to the side. Doesn't affect the functionality but is an indicator of the actual durability of the unit itself. And on that note, the remote absolutely should be waterproof or resistant as well....I mean, I walk my dog in the rain, doesn't everyone? It's not like my dog stops doing #1 and #2 just because the weather is crummy! ... show more

  • Just need a better quality nylon quality with good clasp
Color: Gray
The receiver and electronic worked great. The collar clasp is of low quality and will not hold collar secure on dogs neck. It works loose very quickly. I didn’t east to return whole unit. I wanted a better nylon collar with a very good clasp but so not know how to order it.

  • Great device
Color: Gray
Wonderful device. Easy to use. My dog reacts to the vibration mode, which doesn’t hurt her, but she hates it and comes immediately when I push the button. She has now learned that the word “come” is associated with the vibration. Although I now rarely have to push the button, I never let her outside without it just in case. I did have to contact customer service on a problem I had with the receiver. They were wonderful and responded immediately. Highly recommend. ... show more
