We used another, less expensive wheelchair for my mother at Orlando Disney in June, and it gave us trouble the entire trip. It was the kind with four smaller wheels that costs in the mid-$150 range on Amazon. We were heading to the British Isles for 2 weeks, and realized that if the other couldn't handle Disney, it would quail at the sight of cobblestones. We hoped that if we paid more, we'd get a much better chair. And this one was amazing! This chair is twice the weight of the cheaper chair, but was worth its weight in gold! It held up to all kinds of punishing treatment on the trip, and made our lives so much easier. It's still difficult to get a wheelchair over cobblestones, grass, and gravel, but they were possible to go over with this chair. On smooth sidewalks and airports it floated like a dream. I highly encourage anyone with limited ability to get this chair. As others have stated, this doesn't come with feet so you have to buy those separately. We'd already had to order replacement feet for the cheaper chair, as the left one that came with it failed the first day, so we used those and they worked perfectly.

The wheelchair was purchased in Feb 2021, and by May 2021, the guard on left side of the seat has already cracked. Called Invacare to request help, was given a number to call Amazon. That took me to a reward center where I was told that just for calling during a promotional period, I would receive a $100 gift card, and then the manager would speak with me about the wheelchair. But to get the gift card, I had to authorize a $2.00 charge for shipping, and give him my card number. I told him I would not give him my card number, and let me speak with the manager. He said he couldn't until I gave him my card number, so I hung up. When the man answered, he didn't say he was with Amazon, he said rewards center, so I have to wonder who he really works for. I'm disappointed in Invacare for not helping me, and giving me a number to a reward center that didn't help either.

have had less then a month already losing shape and sagging and im not near capacity weight, so if only use to transport ok but for someone who cant walk this is not your all day go to chair, disapointed for price, but can't afford better on disability income

My mom needed a deeper wheelchair. She has Alzheimer’s and forgets she can’t walk. So she was standing up and falling in her old wheelchair. Not only are restraints illegal in most states, that was not an option for us. So her PT suggested getting a deeper seat in which we can use a wedge pillow to keep her a little farther back. It rides very smoothly. It’s lightweight for travel and very easy to maneuver It did not come with the leg holders but we took them off her old one. They told me to label it since her first wheelchair was lost. I made sure no one could lose this one

I bought this wheelchair because it had features I needed such as a dual axle that lowered seat height 2". This higher priced chair had no footrests. They had to be bought separately. I will not review them here except to say they permanently stick out at an awkward angle, are difficult to put on from a seated position, and one has broken within the first 3 month. This IVACARE Chair is extremely difficult to navigate, like driving a big truck without power steering. It is physically exhausting and frustrating to the point of tears. The front wheels turn sideways and get hung up when I stop or move backwards. To go forward again, it is necessary to exert great energy to straighten the wheels. This is a constant battle. The wheels do not roll smoothly or easily. An 82-year-old with heart disease has no energy to spare fighting with a wheelchair! Another negative is the brakes lock in a forward position. This "backward" process is extremely difficult to execute in many situations. The seat is NOT non-stretchable. It already sags in the middle, while bearing less than half of the stated weight it is designed for. Is this chair comfortable? Like most wheelchairs affordable to the general population, it is constructed of metal, steel, aluminum, iron (whichever) bars, metal slats, screws with protruding screw heads, nuts and bolts protruding, some sharp corners, all sometimes poking into fragile skin. The actual seat is plain, unpadded plastic or canvas and a minimum depth so that the front edge cuts across the bottom of one's thighs often making pressure sores or raw places. I dread getting into my chair each day. I ask you wheelchair designers and manufacturers, "Would you have a chair like that in your house to sit in?
