I didn’t know a 10 year old i5 processor could be replaced by a 10 year old i7. I learned you have to match the motherboard chipset and the processor version. My version processor is 4. Intel processors are up to version 14. Only thing that changed was the processor. After changing the processor it was recognized by Windows 10 and configured and integrated. Went from 4 cores to 8. This is supposedly a used processor. It runs great all four cores stay cool I used a zalman cooler. averages around 28 or 29 degrees per core... this was for a home build mostly still wanting to use DDR3 RAM that I had. This Devil's Canyon CPU does not disappoint

This was an amazing upgrade for me as I upgraded from an i5. It was super easy to install and the fan that comes with it already has thermal paste included. I would highly suggest this if you’re due for a CPU upgrade.
