I just taught a 15 yr. old grandson how to build, and maintain his own computer. I chose a new MSI Z590-A motherboard, 32 gig of high speed gaming RAM, (DDR4 3200) and topped it off with this new 11th gen processor. Fired right up when he hit the switch! Grandson is proud of his work! I do recommend using the built-in graphics (UHD 750) in lieu of a stand alone Nvidia RTX card, due to availability, and a steep price point! Good cards are unavailable right now due to the worldwide chip shortage, which makes the price of RTX cards waaay too high. Wait till the costs come down. ... show more

I bought this i7-11700 CPU because it was being sold at the lowest price. Somehow, it was not immediately clear that the CPU was used. I had wanted a new, unlocked version of the same CPU at a price increase of $80. Frustrated that Amazon is pushing used products on us along with new, I decided to return the CPU and order a new one. There was no problem returning the used CPU. After I had it boxed, labeled and ready to return, I found an $70, used, z590 motherboard. I kept the used CPU, installed it into my used z590 and I was able to upgrade one of my i7 6900 systems for less than $300. After comparing this with other identical used CPU's, this turned out to be a bargain especially because it came with New Intel CPU fan which will be great for testing. Glad I kept it.     • Outstanding CPU for gaming
It will run all 1000 mainstream games at high settings long as youhavea solid GPU. If installed personally you will have to run command prompt. Type sfc /scannow to fix registry errors. This will fix all issues with the registry log.

    • On my Asus Z590 motherboard it runs above 4000 automatically without manual overclocking
It's stable and runs great near or at maximum"overclocked" speed without doing anything. Automatically adjusts as needed on my Z590 Asus Astrx motherboard. The included cooling fan IS JUNK though. It made SO MUCH noise!! Just get yourself a good liquid cooler. Any 1150 or 1200 compatible would do but I'd get one with at least two fans. ... show more

On gigabyte Master MB with LianLi 360 AIO cooler, 3080 extreme video. Running all eight cores with no heating issues. More than enough for 4K gaming. Puts out a little more heat than 9900K it replaced but not an issue. Also this supports DDR4 and has 16 data lines for GPU instead of 4X for 12 and 13th gen. ... show more

I knew going in it was not the latest CPU out there and I was looking for at least 8 cores with a low TDP to do a mini ITX build. Paired it with the MSI MPG B560i. I have no complaints with this CPU.
