  • Basic Budget Processor 💻⚙️
I have tried this Intel Celeron G3930 desktop processor a few times in basic builds. It appears to be made of high quality materials. Supposedly, the 2.9 GHz clock speed provides enough power for office tasks, though I would not try to use it to simulate the birth of the universe. It is awesome. The value is good for a 7th Gen Celeron chip that fits the LGA 1151 socket. It is a reliable dual core choice for simple browsing or running a basic media server. If you find your computer struggling to open more than two tabs, remember this chip was designed for spreadsheets and email, not for winning a professional gaming tournament 🖥️ One tip for setup: make sure your motherboard BIOS is actually compatible with 7th Gen Kaby Lake chips before you seat it. Since it runs cool, you can get away with a very basic heatsink and still keep temperatures stable ❄️ It works well for what it is meant to do. This processor is a solid, no-frills option for anyone building a low-power workstation or a dedicated home lab node 🗄️⚡ ... show more

  • Great 7th CPU for low level needs if paired with Gen 7 MB
Installed this low level 7th generation CPU on a brand new 7th Gen $100 MB Asrock. I added the new 2400 memory Kingston and an old Nvidia $70 Vid Card when new and an old 3.5" HD. While the CPU only top 55% ( that not bad for 40 bucks! ) the system was in top 28%. I attribute this to the amazing memory performance. Comes with fan and is totally noise free and for two days I tried by way of test to crash it and could not. Passmark Score is 3,000 so make sure that meets your needs before purchase. I could not get the Intel 610 graphics to work and the MS graphics not good enough for my tastes. The Intel program told me the 3930 CPU was not good enough for it to install 610 graphics! Until this is worked out only buy if you have old video card or can afford a cheap new Vid Card. OR.... consider the $60 Pentium also 7th Gen just out. I would buy again for my low level needs ( running accounting program ). Also adequate for net surfing. Roe5685 ... show more

  • does routine stuff, plays robolox
I bought this to replace I5 7400 and gtx 1060 3gb that came in my computer. I only use this computer for business and I didn't need a quadcore and discrete graphics card to do that. the Celeron at 2.9ghz with integrated graphics is plenty and works without a hitch; I don't notice a difference in what I use the computer for which is office work and a little internet. Also, my small boys like to come up to the office when I'm working and play roblox on this. A simple game like that works just fine on this Celeron. I do have a steam account on this computer, and I did open skyrim, and it was 'playable' with minimal graphics settings, but likely not enjoyable. the integrated graphics are only for office and casual games and most vintage games over 10 years old. ... show more

  • Cheap, but in a good way.
It's a cheap, efficient, weak processor that is perfect for low budget, hands off tasks where cost is more important than performance. I stuck one in my most recent mining rig and it is likely the only component I have yet to encounter trouble with.

  • Review of Intel BX80677G3930 7th Gen Celeron
I bought the Intel BX80677G3930 7th Gen Celeron to put into a Gigabyte cryptocurrency mining board, as it was good value-for-money and recommended. Installation was easy, with the CPU sitting securely in the socket. The heatsink worked well, and overall the CPU was quiet and ran at a cool temperature. Worth the effort to run in a mining rig, probably not suitable for any high-end gaming, and I'd rather recommend a Core i3 at the bear minimum. ... show more

  • It's cheap and depending what you need it for will get the job done
These are targeted at low cost computers. I built my first mining rig using this and so far it works great. No problems yet and no complaints. Easy install too. I didn't realize the heat paste was already on it, so I smeared it a little and went to buy more just in case. Shouldn't need expert installation for another $100. Watch a quick video if you must because it's not grueling to install at all.. 4 "clicks" in on each corner = thumbs up. Just don't break it. ... show more

  • Great processor for light tasks or media center pc's
It's hard to beat this processor for the price. It is excellent for mining rigs and very low power consumption. Having said that I think it would also be a fine processor for a media center pc or a basic computer that's used for editing documents, watching Youtube, surfing the web. It would probably even handle light gaming on some e-sports titles. For those that don't know, it has on-board video. So, a graphics card is not required either. You could literally build a working pc around this processor for probably less than $200. ... show more
